Had to happen. KTM is going to want a piece of the action in the revised WorldSSP class starting next year, and the naked and adventure models weren't going to cut it.
The swingarm isn't symmetrical. Honda has done this before (with their so-called "Gull Arm" swingarm). It's straight on the chain side, curved upward on the other side to clear the exhaust. Same situation here. With that swingarm evidently being built up from castings, it's pretty easy to do that.
