Planning a few rides over the next month to include the Frontenac, Calabogie, Algonquin, Haliburton and Muskoka areas.

Curious if any of the good roads are under construction or maybe got especially beat up this past winter.

Thanks!

I haven’t ridden much yet, but I’ve done a lot of miles between Toronto, Ottawa and Timmins in the last month. Main roads are clean, gravel highways are graded, secondary dirt roads are still messy. Stay clear of the Sudbury area as flooding is still happening over small highways and the southern part of 144.

It looks like they are switching to full road closures for maintenance in some areas (do 200km in 36 hrs) vs doing 10km stints with lane closures over 20 weeks.

507 is in great shape; basically no sand at all. I can’t say the same about Harburn Rd near Haliburton though; most of the way toward Fort Irwin is still full of sand in the corners.

Not sure how well this link will work. We went to Huntsville over the weekend. The Ottawa BMW club was also there, and they spent four days touring around the area. I tried converting tracks into routes and merging them in MyRouteApp, but I never got a merge button. Here's the link of where we went:
Ottawa to Huntsville and back

There was only one intersection that was covered in gravel/sand, and it was well marked. The leader was using Apple maps to follow the route and the lag between his phone and the display device made for some comical u turns.
