Rider Down Steeles Industral Drive in Milton!

I am down there a lot. i hopehe/she is ok. Someone please update with any news about him/her

That was me. Happened about 10:45pm sunday on my way home from work.

I wish I could tell you exactly what happened but all I remember was riding down street towards the escarpment with a vehicle coming towards me in the opposite lane then looking at the side of a big suv after I was already in the intersection. Other than that I remember standing in the road looking at my bike in pieces trying to figure out how my front tire was laying on the road but the rim was gone. I don't even remember the police or ambulance arriving yet I have scene pictures on my phone with a police car in some but I don't remember taking pics either. My R1 was beyond totaled. The officer told me in the ER that the driver was charged but I don't know for what exactly.

My friend from work says he was under the train bridge when it happened and heard it but didn't see it. He told me there was an off duty paramedic that called 911 and set up the flares. I vaguely remember him so if anyone hears someone talking about it please thank him for me. My friend said he was pretty shaken up just seeing the scene and couldn't believe I survived let alone was standing in the road. I'm pretty sure the police and EMS had similar feelings. All of whom by the way were great and I'm pretty sure the officer that came to the hospital said he rides too so if your here, thanks again.

I was at the hospital for a few hours for xrays on my neck mostly and head trauma stuff. I guess everything was alright up there but everything is banged up pretty good from ankle to shoulder and I can barely move my head and I'm starting to get a lot of pain running up both sides of my back, abdomen, collar bone, jaw and ribs. I can't seem to focus very well on anything and my head is still pounding. Everything is getting worse after some time passing even with meds which doesn't surprise me. Waiting to see what happens in the morning and may have to go back to a hospital to get checked cause I think something might be really wrong with my left knee.

Going to have to hang it up for while after that one but it could have been a lot worse.

Glad you made it and able to write on here:) Take it real easy and don't ignore anything that is going on with your body right now. Your going to be hurting for a while but make sure you see some specialists and keep up with physio, massage and the ciropractor. You might also start remembering bits and peices of what happened in time and try to get a hold of the police report that might help you remember as well. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Holy smokes, glad youre alive! Sounds like you know the drill when it comes to not ignoring the urge to go to the hospital. Hope you get better soon!

I'm very happy to read this story, only because you wrote it yourself and lived to tell.
All the best to you fellow rider, i hope you recover fully and feel better soon.

Like rafiki911 said take care of yourself. Don't worry about feeling like your nagging or complaining to the doctors. Get every/any thing that bothers you checked out. If a doctors says something that is bothering is ok, but you don't feel it's been thoroughly checked out, insist it gets checked.

Get well soon Rider, I am very sorry to hear what happened however I am feeling fortunate that you're still among us today. It could of been a lot worst. I hope this doesn't discourage you from riding again and I also wish you a very speedy recovery.
Hopefully you'll be back on 2 in no time.

best wishes. I'm out in Milton and knowing that intersection well makes your story give me the shivers.

Sucks too cause i have driven by there about six times in the last three days and i can still see what's left of the clean up kit almost inline with the right hand curb on industrial dr. At least the ct scan on my neck today went fairly well.

The accident sounds bad. But glad that you are able to tell us about your story. It's one of the rider's worst nightmare, some drivers cuts you off at an intersection and there is no where for you to go. GWS.
