A 34-year-old motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries in a three vehicle collision yesterday morning in Pickering.
On Sunday September 11, 2011 at approximately 10:30 a.m. members of West Division responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Granite Court, just west of Whites Road in the City of Pickering.
Witnesses reported the motorcycle rider was travelling westbound on Granite Court, failed to negotiate a curve in the road and crossed the center line into the oncoming eastbound lane. The rider then collided with two separate sedans that were travelling eastbound.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 34-year-old Pickering man, was transported from the collision scene to a Toronto area hospital with multiple life-threatening injuries, where he remains in critical condition. Neither driver of the two involved sedans were injured.
The road was closed for several hours while members from the Collision Investigation Unit investigated the collision. Weather, road conditions and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors to the collision.
Anyone with new information regarding this collision or the activities of the involved drivers prior to the collision is requested to contact D/Cst. Cecil Bryson at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5255.
