Hot and Sunny!
Traveled some roads that you needed your lights on at mid day.
Trees started where the pavement ends!
Not a good place to over estimate your riding skills.
I did a detour on Wednesday and rode 450km.
Some nice corners on Hwy. 8 (Westport Rd)
When I started out Wednesday moring I only put in $20.00 dollars at the pump and that did not fill the tank.
I did not remember that I had ridden about 400 km since last fill but once on the road I could correct my error
by stopping to fill earlier than planned.
Verona as a gas stop was only 8km out of my way to fill but when I got to the station
It had burnt to the ground.
OH WELL! just continue on down Hwy. 38 another 12 km to the next gas station.
Heading back thru Verona to get on track again I stoped at Muddy Waters for an early lunch.
There I changed out of my usual riding gear for a mesh jacket and jeans.
On the route back to Kingston I took a detour thru Chaffeys Locks and south on Hwy. 15.
Thursday I was feeling a bit off probably from dehidration from the day before.
The bridge was open at the Narrows Locks to let some boats thru.
This put me behind some slower vehicles with a "good bit" of road coming up.
Once across the bridge I stopped for 5 minutes where I could see traffic comming up behind me.
Once I was on my way I never caught up to traffic again.
I decided to shorten my day to 275km because I was not feeling my best and ridding with jeans the day before
had caused a bit of chaffing.
Near Perth I had encountered a section of road construction using dry cement followed shortly by wet pavement from street cleaning.
When I pulled into the driveway I could not get my side stand down!!!!
After leaning the Guzzi against the house I was able to put a bit of pipe on the stand and get it to move.
With the side stand down and a cloth under it I aplied a generous amount of oil and it works fine now.
