Quite pleased my gloves arrived todayScreen Shot 2025-06-03 at Jun, 3 2025 12.46.17 PM.jpg
They are on sale at Fort Nine for $111 including shipping but not sure about tax.

They cost me $28 cdn here plus $11.50 shipping via Aliexpress..

Wanted these for a while but they are $$$ here - they seem to serve Noraly well in the desert and she uses with the touch screen all the time.
My current gloves are cool enough but really marginal protection as designed for mountain biking not motorcycling. These are very well constructed and long enough at the wrist. Hopefully last out my every shortening riding years/

This pair of hand protection has been specifically designed and engineered for summer use, providing optimal grip, breathability, and ventilation.

$129.00 to $169.00 · In stock · 5.0(10) · $10 delivery · 30-day returns

The pics on Ali are exactly the same as the ones on F9 ... now that you have them, do they look the same as the pics?

The mesh pattern on the outside of the hand is interesting for airflow ... they work as designed?

They are the real thing. The Rev 4 Sands have been discontinued for the Rev 5 now announced.
I just got them today so no feed back as yet on cooling. Feel very well protected compared to my old gloves which were not motorcycle level protection.
I'd been admiring the gloves on Itchy Boots rides but too expensive for me - about $170 Aus shipped.
$50 Aud shipped ??? very pleased. Might take some break in. Rugged gear.
It's been bugging me for more than a year having a weak spot in armour.
Boots, jackets, riding pants, helmets all solid protection .....gloves were not..

Maybe a short ride next week as stiff in recovery 👩‍⚕️ tho feeling okay
I don't think you'll be disappointed but likely limited stock.

I got a pair of ICON Pursuit gloves from Ali Express. They looked totally real and legit, tags and all. On their own they looked proper.

When you put them next to ICON Pursuit gloves sold in store at Studio Cycle, you realized that while labelling and even stitching was the same, material used felt completely different. If the ICON Pursuits sold here are made from goat, maybe the ones I got from Ali were made from raccoon hide or something.

They wore out and were falling apart in just under 2 full seasons whereas my previous ICON Pursuits lasted 5+ years until I lost them in the dark on a drunken bicycle ride with my idiot friends.

I couldn't tell you if the ones from Ali were real or knock-offs... but I can tell you that if they were real, they were definitely made for a foreign market. They were not what is stocked and sold here.

When it came time to replace the Ali Express pair because they were falling apart left and right, I decided not to get another Ali pair and just play it safe and pay full price for the gloves I knew were legit...

Hope your experience will be different, @MacDoc , and obviously my one pair of Ali gloves is a small sample.... but based on my own experience, I wouldn't chance it on Ali gloves again. Caveat emptor.

Showing off the first hole from a year's use... wonder how they would've held up if I crashed? Glad I didn't have to find out.

If the Sand 4 were not discontinued - I might agree with you - but they are so there is every reason to see the discontinued model being offered,
We'll see how they hold up - as noted what I got and what Fort Nine are selling appear identical and the retail packaging flawless.

Even IF a knockoff....which I doubt..what I have in hand here is hellishly better protection than my current gloves for $50.

Reading the reviews and some have said that the plastic mesh over the top of the hand has no give/bend and can be uncomfortable so curious once you get out MacDoc.

Got a link to the review.
I do think they will take some break in time. Ruggedly built.
Maybe just buy a pair ...Ali is easy returns.

You'll find this in the reviews:

There are absolutely knock-off Rev-It gloves, jackets etc. on the market. I have two pairs of Sand 3 gloves and one is a knock-off. Looks exactly the same, but fit is slightly different and there are other tell-tale signs (colors off, not compatible with phone screens etc.). I got them cheap and know why.

They are gloves, and for $28 I'm sure these AliExpress jobbies are just fine, but they're likely not authentic.

Google "knock off revit gloves" and you'll find loads of discussions / comparisons out there.

That said, Revit gloves do fit small so size up.

I can confirm the the protective material over the knuckle is an issue for those with large knuckles (mainly middle knuckle). Used them at the start of the season and stopped after 600km of use. I wanted to like them but the bruising and torn flesh was enough to give up on the "break-in" period. Also found that the pinky had very little flex due to the construction.

Only thing I can say is he bought the wrong size as the fit at the wrist is very comfie and lots of adjustment space

Not sure about "plastic"....I expect the knuckles to be stiff. Some sort of thermo-plasticScreen Shot 2025-06-04 at Jun, 4 2025 12.24.39 AM.jpg
I always buy a size up these are 2XL
Even if knock off....big step up from the $10 wonders I've been using. Closer to gardening gloves.

I can see getting irritation from the knuckles. Might have prefered D3O armour on the knuckles which I had on my 3 season gloves.

Good commentary here and confirms buy a size up.

Looks like a very decent glove for a great price. Regardless if legit or not.

The only gloves I miss are my Velocity Sportsgear gauntlets. Love those things.

Unfortunately so did squirrels and they are right through them 🤬

If the Sand 4 were not discontinued - I might agree with you

Right... Because when manufacturers do blow out pricing, or an MSRP drop, they only do it with one retailer, and not market-wide... /sarcasm

And for some reason, instead of doing blow out pricing with one solitary business, say a motorcycle business that already carries them, like CoMoto, which owns RevZilla, Cycle Gear, J&P Cycle... Rev'It said, "Hey! Let's do the deal with AliExpress, and let them offer our product at a fraction of the price, to turn off future buyers of our brand. That's good business!" And the Rev'It marketing department was like "Oh yeah, that's a great idea for our brand image and strength! We should totally do that!"

  😂

For me and my Ali Express cheapo gloves, whether or not it was a knock off, or authentic versus just made cheaper because it was made for a less economically strong market was never really the concern.

For me the concern was, these look great, they're packaged great, but next to the real gloves they are noticeably are made cheaper. I don't trust these cheap ones in the event of a crash.

I'll post some pics so you guys can see what I mean. The quality isn't just inferior with wear. The quality is inconsistent from one glove to the next.

ICON Pursuits from Ali Express, two years of use, maybe 5,000 - 10,000 km max. (as I have 3 other pairs of gloves I use).

Notice not just how falling apart they are, but also how they failed in totally different areas from one glove to the next.

Middle three fingers and palm furthest from thumb.

It leads me to believe that no part of my Ali Express gloves are durable.

I kept the old pair because I'm planning on making a youtube video warning people not to waste their money on questionable gloves. But first, in order to give a fair comparison, I want to do one more ride across Italy on my store-bought ICON Pursuits. They probably have about 4k km on them now, so by the time I get back they should have about 6k km on them and I plan on showing how both gloves have or haven't held up.

It's all good as long as you just don't crash, right?

Like most such things, I suspect they're made in the same factory in China but the input materials vary in quality depending on who the buyer is so brand name ICON gets the top shelf Corinthian  leather while Ali gets the fake vinyl stuff.

Hey! Let's do the deal with AliExpress, and let them offer our product at a fraction of the price, to turn off future buyers of our brand.
Having sold 10s of millions $ of Macs over nearly 40 years I was quite pleased when our "partner" OWC started carrying new discontinued Macs with Apple's blessing.
Apple finally settled on a strategy of choosing one retailer who could move volume though I think that has expanded for NOS to some of the other world retailers.

Selling a discontinued product through a volume source moves that entire production out of the " dealer chain" where say a Sand Four might cannibalize Sand Five sales.

I'm glad you posted that Mac example. Let's play a game called One of these things is not like the other.

You notice that your Mac example is 30% off MSRP, right?

You also notice that the Sand 4's are also 30% off MSRP on Fortnine and on Revzilla right? (https://fortnine.ca/en/revit-sand-4-gloves) - what a coincidence.

Now notice that on AliExpress the alleged "Sand 4" gloves are over 70% off MSRP.

Three examples of supposed discontinued product discounting... but one of these things is not like the others...

Not entirely sure it's a valid comparison . there are still Mac hardware deals that are highly discounted so I'd not rely on that for discriminating authenticity.
And there are no "knock off" Apple Macs, Watches or iPhones afaik that would fool anyone tho I suspect there may be a thriving knock off trade on things like AirPods.

Proof will be in the use on the gloves for a few months and I'm cleared to ride as soon as I feel up to it which might mean tomorrow.

Ever have an ugly pair of gloves that just refuse to die? I bought a pair of FIVE gloves at the Royal tent sale a few years back for $50 and they’re now sun-faded ugly with tons of miles and storms on them but the leather seems just fine.
I’ve had pretty replacement Alpinestars smx1 Air Carbon V2 gloves sitting beside them for 1.5yrs now but I refuse to replace working things just because they’re ugly (maybe that’s how my wife feels about me?).
