Replacement Levers

Most of the ebay knockoffs used the ad drawings right from the pazzo site. If they cant come up with their own drawing how can you trust their manufacturing ability?

Yes do some research and you will see that this statement is not correct.

Lol classic...why not search for broken Pazzo's too. If you do some research you'll find that Pazzos can break, ASV levers can break and Ebay levers can break. Only one of these costs 1/5 the price of the others though and that's what really ticks off the haters. One of the reviews you'll find about the Ebay levers comes from a metalurgist who's summary is that the Ebay levers, while not built to the same standards as the more expensive levers, are perfectly adequate for the job they are designed to perform. The old adage is true...a fool and his money......

Lol..well..by not splurging on advertising they can offer a product at a price that better reflects the actual cost to manufacture. Welcome to marketing 101.

By not having their own drawings they are ummmm.....ahhhh....not the top of their field thats for sure.

Breaking isnt the issue here.

I broke a maguira clutch master cylinder last month. Doesnt mean some ebay unit for 1 10th the cost would match its quality and performance.

So are $5 cast pieces.

I'm taking it you haven't actually seen these Ebay levers then? They are far from $5 cast blocks. I'm still mightily impressed with mine for what I paid and so are many others. If we were talking high-tech machinery here I'd agree with you to go with heavily over engineered equipment...but we're not. The fulcrum has been around since the egyptians built pyramids and before that. Lets face it though much of the time people buy these levers as bling for their bikes and for those that do these are just fine.

My only point is ebay knockoffs are not the same.

The ASVs are awesome. This is all that happened to my lever when I low-sided. No break. Just shaved the edge of the ball:

However, because the good levers are so damn sturdy, instead of snapping, it snapped the lever perch instead:

In some ways it would have been better to just have the lever snap rather than the perch. Replacing a lever couldn't be easier. I think if you're just going for the bling factor, then just get the eBay knock-offs. If you want more adjustment and a warranty, spend the coin on the 'unbreakable' levers.

Some levers are designed with a weak point so they snap mid way allowing the lever to remain functional.

I managed to break my clutch master cylinder on a low speed drop, in soft dirt, with handguards, and a folding lever.

Just out of curiosity, have you contacted ASV to see if they would do something about the broken perch?...
