Recommended front and rear stand for my bike...

Although I have a centre stand on my bike it is a pain to get the bike onto it. I figure a rear stand at the least will simplify chain cleaning and lubrication. My bike is an old CD 750.

Would any rear stand work? Anything to look out for or features I need?

Does the swing arm accept spools? If so, that would be the best, most secure type of stand. My recommendation is Pitbull.....pricey, but the last stand you'll ever buy.

If you are having trouble with the centre stand, a rear stand won't be easier. Has anyone shown you how to easily get the bike on the centre stand??

They should be very easy to get on the centre stand.....

The Only type of rear stand - that would work is a paddle type stand....something like the picture below. However - it is not too secure. When ever I use these - I tend to worry.

Also, your exhaust is very close to the swing arm - which is another reason where something like the stand below won't work quite well.

You could always get one of these for quick clean and lube, works well. Princess Auto carries them. I cant remember where my wife picked mine up.

This is an interesting option and product as well.

Great product for those without a centre stand. Great to be able to clean and lube the chain away from home etc. Just the same I should see if I can get better at using my centre stand.

Thats a cool product, may pick one up for long rides. The center stand is easy once you get the hang of it. Bike in neutral, left hand on left grip, wheel straight, right hand on passenger grab rail or passenger footpeg, step on centerstand and roll back. do not grab any plastic. i made that mistake and have a nice crack from it

Thanks. I will try out your suggestion tomorrow. It would be a shame not to utilize my centre stand since my bike actually has one. Becoming a rarity nowadays.

I think somebody here was going to see if they could organize a group buy for these

They offer them in two versions. Spools and axle nut. If there was a group buy and you could choose which one you wanted I would grab the axle nut. The company is in Alberta so no customs for them to worry about. Would be cool if they would consider a group buy.

+1 Centre stand is the best way to go as it keeps the rear wheel off the ground.

Worked like a charm. :)

Pic not the best but the bike is on the centre stand. I put the side stand back up afterwards. I was able to do it a bunch of times so I have it down pretty well now. I find the key is to wear my motorcycle boots when I do it. The thick soles plus the technique nailed it. :)
