Neill was the recipient of the AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, the Longford Lyell Award, the New Zealand Film Award, and the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actor. He also received three Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.[3] He won the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor[4] at the 2023 Logies.

Have not seen Hunt for the Red October in a long while and don't have on Blu Ray.

I always prefer to celebrate their accomplishments tho there are a few I'd be quite pleased to see gone

That "died suddenly" lurks at the back of my mind. Same age as me

Jurassic Park filmmaker Steven Spielberg and Australian actress Nicole Kidman are among those paying tribute to Sam Neill, who died suddenly yesterday aged 78.

The New Zealand actor is being lauded for his contributions on and off screen both at home and around the globe.

Among those paying tribute are Richard E. Grant, Cillian Murphy and Jimmy Barnes, while political leaders in Australia and New Zealand are praising his "dignity, honour and conviction".

He just finished his lymphoma cancer treatment a short while ago and while he was in full remission I can speak from experience it takes a while to fully recover from the treatment. I figure two years before I felt 100%.
Sad which is unusual for me to say as I prefer to celebrate accomplishments but in this case I think there was more to give the world.
He certainly was accomplished.
