Ran over glass - is tire safe?

I got to work today and saw a little chunk of glass in my tire, it was pretty loose so I picked it out. Here's the piece of glass to see how small it is.

Here's the tire with the glass removed

Water/spit doesn't bubble on the nick, but I put some liquid soap on it and after about 3-4 min, one tiny bubble appears, then goes away. Doesn't continue bubbling I think

How far was it wedged in?

I think you're ok, it looks like it got wedged in the thicker tread part. If it was in the groove, then that's closer to the inner rubber lining.

The thinnest part of the tire is that groove there, so as long as the cut isn't deeper than the wear mark, you're good to go!

The only thing that could get worse from it is that it might break apart the rubber more, so keep an eye on it and keep an eye on your tire pressure. If it does start breaking up, you could always patch it from the inside.. not a tire plug from the outside in, but the ones that go from the inside out. They're much stronger and safer.. especially for a motorcycle tire.

it still bubbles a tiny little bit with soap on the hole. but ive checked the tire pressure once every 10 min, and it hasnt changed, if it has its such a small amount it doesnt show on the analog tire pressure gauge.

you think i am okay? or should i got get er plugged (rosey toes has plugged tires in the past for me) but they were nails, or screws not something as tiny as little spec of glass. id idealy like to just leave it, but in the back of my mind im gonna be thinking its gonna go on me at some point.

I would replace it. A tire has your life riding on it at 100+ kph. Better be safe then sorry.

the piece of glass is the size of nerd candy, how is that possible that it goes into the thickest part of the tire and punctures it. the tires are less then a week old. I dont think I have ever had a pair of tires where one hasnt got something stuck in it at some point within a few weeks of buying them. im hyper paranoid about road debris for that exact reason, I sweep my driveway and parking spot at work on a daily basis before I park in them. i have bad luck with tires i guess.

id rather plug the tire or patch the tire then buy a new one already. im on a strict budget that doesnt make room for tires every week. ive gone 20k+ on my old sv with a plug in it. and rosey toes plugs tires, and has stated he wouldnt do it if he belived someones life would be in danger. i think replacing the tire is a little extreme

was just hoping that it was a nick and not a puncture so that i didnt have to plug it, but it looks like its leaking very very very slowly

lol - you are fine

You just paranoid, lay off the pot...or send it my way

its a slow leak for sure, at 4:30pm the pressure was 36 psi by 6:30pm it was at 33 psi.

i just plugged it now, better sealed for the time being then slowly leaking. its been a hour and 15 minutes, pressure still holding strong and no leaks coming from the plug.

moral of the story, virtually impossible to not puncture your tire, just a matter of time lol.
