I have an alpinestar race suit and was wondering what people recommend for best internal protection.

Option 1: Alpinestar snap in Bionic back protector (no shoulder straps, just a waist wrap around) + Alpinestar Chest Pad inserts

Option 2: some sort of chest/back protection vest (Icon Styker or equivalent)

Looking for what will offer me the most protection when I hit the ground. Easy of use is also important. Will be using this for 75% street and 25% track.

Thanks

Not going to recommend the Icon. Not because it is not decent. I might get my rear kicked if I post pics of that stuff anymore. ;)

What is your budget?

Forcefield stuff looks really good. CE level 2 and seems perfect for under a racing suit. Top and bottom available.

race suits already have armor in them, back protectors are mandatory amongst certain orgs, chest protector is optional but recommended.

a full suit is already overkill for street riding, adding even more armor would be crazy...

My Astars bionic vest bunches up when i put on my one piece. I mean real bad and the chest part is near neck by the time my arms are in. I'm thinking of getting a dainese wave BP with something like this....

This will be double duty for track and street.

errr i've mentioned this in another thread but I think that Forcefield armour shirt is redundant. A 1 piece already has shoulder + forearm armour. Al you need is a chest and back protector. Forcefield makes a really nice one but I heard it's not as low profile due to the shoulder straps being too thick. With that said, check out the Spidi Defender armor. Level 2 back protection and the shoulder straps are pretty low profile.

It doesn't matter what offers better protection if you dont wear it.

Put the crap on, then your suit. Buy the one that's the most comfortable, best fitting for your body. That's the one to buy.

If you want crash review - ask Kellen.
