Race Fairings / Bodywork

Bakaboy, I am glad u enjoyed my response :) I didn't do any reading on the Internet actually. It's coming from fellow riders. I actually though that is the way all track bodywork is until I started asking questions.

I don't feel like posting pictures to back up my claim, it just isn't worth that much to me. take it for what's it worth. Maybe I'm full of it...

To the other poster. All last winter it sat out in my trailer off the bike so I could work on the bike. Non heated trailer.

To the OP, sorry to have hijacked your thread, I am done...was just posting my opinion. :)

It's funny but when it come time to back up what you are saying to be the truth now you don't "feel like it" you will spend 2 days slamming squidskins name. But now you don't feel like it.
It's funny i once saw a guy like you tearing into James at Cayuga telling him his 03 cbr600rr bodywork would not fit his bike.
Meanwhile James telling him he would install it for him if he needed to. The guy was uncooperative and walked off.
The entire time james was standing there with his hands on both his bike and his buddy's (ragingduck) bike. Both bikes were 03 cbr600rr bikes.

I'm going to go with you're last statement that you are full of it.

I have raced for twenty seven years retired in 2008. I own a shop and been building racebikes since the begining. I have used/installed EVERY major body brand and can tell you James stuff fits fine. Its race glass NONE fits perfect it just doesnt. Is his the best I have used? Nope. Is it the worst? Nope by a long shot. Upside it fits ok, its cheap in comparison and he is local if you need it fixed. He is a large personality and certainly not to everyones taste but he builds a decent product and is priced decent.

Just got my 2nd set of Sharkskinz, and very impressed! Fit and finish was great! When I ordered they said it was not in stock, but they made them in 2 days, and shipped them to me within a week. Since I bought a full set they paid for half the shipping, so it ended up being pretty decent pricing...I actually paid less direct from them, then I payed for my last set that I bought locally from a shop that had them in stock.....And the best part as I was ordering the lady asked me "do you want us to pre drill and install all the Dzuz"? I was like no way you offer that for free? They came pre drilled perfectly! Everything bolted up perfectly without having to force anything into place....And the guy that painted them for me said the finish was better then most, making his prep work easy.....

Stay away from Hotbodies! Their stuff sucked in comparison! Bad fit and finish and 6 weeks wait time for them to make them............

"Cheapest" and "best" don't go together!
Squidskins is local. If you wreck his stuff, he will fix it... if it can be fixed. Try asking that of one of the other companies.

Wow, you guys went for the record on thread degradation with this one!

I will give another + for Armour Bodies. Yes it's a bit more money, but it's very good, in my experience.

I too had a set of James' Squidskins and it fit well on my old CBR-F4. When I destroyed the tail and swapped on an F4i subframe I went to James again for the tail and it fit perfectly. I'm guessing the Gixxer stuff fits the best though, since that's what he races ;)

In contrast, I needed a new tail for my ZX6R and went with a cheap, no name one off eBay. Never again. Junk. Fits like crap, cracked as soon as I installed it. It'll be on there until it needs repairing, then it's back to Squidskins or Armour Bodies.
