Questions/opinions for you riders

Heres the story, my main tank is at the shop getting painted and I was suppose to get her last Monday but due to the delay it's suppose to be ready by next monday. I don't mind as long as the end result is good (the price was VERY competitive). I was itching to ride so i decided to grab my beat up tank and side covers, sprayed it xxx colour to match my ownership. Now the job is obv not the greatest because it was painted outdoors in an open environment, with dents and scratches everywhere.

Now will you ride If you're bike is partially done aesthetically but mechanically well?

Ie.
Mismatch colours
un fixed scratches
mud and crap dirty everywhere
ongoing project
dented tank
etc

Riding is more fun than looking at a parked bike.

Some people won't even wash if it's dirty.

Me, as long as it's safe, i'm riding.

Hell yeah, you can paint it later besides, when you're riding your bike and thinking you're cool (as all riders do) nobody else on the street does so enjoy that **** while we have supportive weather!

That describes my bike perfectly.

Princess's Man's bestest advice: Go out and ride, young one! Life is too short to worry about how your bike looks. Plus, ppl on the street don't really care, and are likely focused on themselves and not you! :happy5::bunny::dog::alien:

Of course, if you're trying to impress a lady (or a hunky guy), then please disregard my bestest advice.

Good luck, young one!

Are you asking so you know what to do? Its completely your choice. If for some reason you are worried you will be scoffed at for riding a bike with scratches and dents and that is important to you, then don't ride. If its not, then ride. Not a complicated question as you said the bike is mechanically sound and fit to ride.

... I don't understand the question.

If my bike starts I'm going to ride it. it just helps that she's so damn pretty.

I ride a bike considered "grotesque" even by the designers, so i don't give a **** about appearance. The view looking forward is the most important thing.

Hell no!! Park it and cover it, no one wants to see your Frankenbike. Looks and appearances are everything in this world, haven't you learned anything you've seen on TV???

:lmao:

PS. Shut up and go ride.

I agree, your bike choice is terrible.

Ride it! haha I have ridden my cafe project around when it was half done (but still mechanically sound) with a beat up tank, weird grips and cruiser pegs. It's all about fun and if people look at you weird they're just jealous!

Just make sure you wear a tinted visor and leave your helmet on and no one will ever know it was you!!!!!

if it's dented and badly painted, might aswell throw pink ribbons on the bar ends and zoom around. I would rather do that then stare at a parked bike.

I've been riding with a chunk of my left rear fairing missing since last autumn. I'll replace it at some point but mostly because I don't want the rest of it falling while I ride not because I'm afraid someone might think my bike isn't the prettiest princess on the road.

HAha all right. I just wanted to know what you guys would do. Im currently riding my half done crappy cafe racer project because i couldnt pass on the beautiful weather today.
waiting for tank and fairings,
clip ons
and new upholster for the seat

I thought there'd be a lot of ppl that'd rather park and watch than ride ^_^

Hit the nail on the head. Just like when welding, you can't look at your bike directly without eye protection without going blind
