That's just it, all these manufacturers get all these MX and Dakar superstars to hawk their Adventure bikes. The average punter sees Pol Tarres riding a T7 up a spiral staircase in an abandoned building at Romaniacs and thinks, "If I buy a T7, I could probably do that too!"

And then you drop the F-n thing in 2 inches of pea gravel and you realize: you're no Pol Tarres...

Honda has the GOAT, Toni Bou, making the 500 lb Africa Twin look like a toy in some of their videos lately... (remove space after https below, as YouTube has decided that embedded videos don't pay enough)

Can imagine some optimistic chancer trying to endo down a gravel slope...

Have a sudden urge to visit a honda dealer now

Also that downhill jump stoppie

Yep. Thought about it a ton before pulling the trigger. The major factor was that it kinda sucks riding a 470lb, very tall bike off-road, at least for my limited abilities. I'm sure people who are more talented than me can do crazy things with it, but for a newbie it's just too much. I dropped it a bunch of times, almost threw out my back picking it up, and every time it went down something went wrong, like the kickstand killswitch or the handlebar/front wheel alignment. Ended up wrenching on it more than riding it.

It's great on road, but I'd rather just have a street bike and pick up a small dirtbike in the future. View attachment 50311

when you say offroad, do you mean timid exploration or go fast in narlier terrain?

I was mainly riding quad trails, not super gnarly single track but definitely a couple steps up from forest roads. Speed varied based on terrain but I wasn't going that fast...maybe 20-30km/h most of the time. The trails had a 40km/h speed limit.

I really enjoyed the Tenere on gravel roads and flat dirt roads, but once I got into something a bit more off-road it became a little stressful given how tall and heavy it is.

The two unconnected straight pipes give me 3 extra horse power right?

That's how mods work right? 🤣
I've ridden those a few times.
Trying to think if the handlebar hits my knee on full lock turns.
I don't think it does.
Are those pipes for fishing rods?

I’ll admit I wasn’t overly fond of this bike at first but after getting it tuned to bring up the power especially at low-midrange and doing some personalizing mods it’s brilliant now. BMW’s Navigation still doesn’t interact with phone/Sena very well but that’s my only gripe at this point.

Cleaned the bike up, so shiny! Not bad for an almost 10-year old bike with over 130,000 kms on the clock!
