Pennsylvania in the Spring

Penn was awesome as usual.
Watch out for the wildlife, had a few oh s### moments with deer and a very, very, very close encounter with a really big bear that did not want to share the road with me.
All I can say is thank god for abs ;).

Bear? Did you get a picture :-)

Lol that was the last thing on my mind, I came to a slide about 5 feet from the thing. Then it just sat there thinking about how much he would have to work to get thru my leathers.
As the other riders came around the corner it decided it was to much of a hassle and strolled across into the trees.

So what you're saying is...I saved your life.

I had a similar experience on 120 just north of the 555 turnoff. bear was coming up from the river, I was heading north and he stopped in the middle of the road...
I am on a Shadow ACE tourer and stopped about 50 yards away - blew horn, rev'd motor and flashed lights - no way I could turn the bike around in time if he decided to charge me - but thankfully, he decided to continue up the hill into the trees.

He was big and I was alone on the road and dead if he chose to attack. Later, in Tionesta, I met a game warden who was trailering a "bear trap" and talked to him. He was heading up into the corn country where a bear was destroying the farmer's crop.

Love to see deer on the road and always stop to watch 'em. Hope I never get that close to a bear again.

That area must be a bear hot spot, because I also had a black bear cross the road in front of me at 120/555 last year.

Well, got back a few hours ago from PA.

Great time overall, good weather. Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread. the routes we did were great. Long day Friday - got into St Marys at after 9:30.. lots of BUGS at night. Averaged 600km-ish on each day.. nearly ran out of gas on one stage ;)
Lots of bikers there. Even the 1%'ers waved to us ;) lol! Will do more of a write up later in the week.. but for sure watch out for the wildlife. We saw a deer, and other wildlife on and near the road. Actually, spotting sport/sport tourers were rarer than seeing deer!! Lots of cruisers. Roads well paved!

:headbang:
