My 6yr supply of Motul 5100 is nearing it's end.
I'm guessing Rotella T6 is the closest blend in the Rotella line?
Can someone please verify (in layman's terms) which blend of Rotella is the equivalent?
Thanks in advance.

I'd say T6 has more synthetic than 5100, it's probably closer to motul 7100.

Thanks...........IOW - no harm in using it?
Now I have to find the flyer I saw that has it on for $54/18L.

You sure it's T6 5w40? That's the JASO-MA rated stuff.. The pricing you're giving me is more for the 15w40 dino stuff that is OK to use but I'd change every 2K or so

T6 is diesel oil, lol :)

I know tons of people that run it in their R6's and R1's, street AND track, no issues.

My bad......Not the T6, just the "T".
It's in the wal mart flyer:
$54.72 each
Rollback

Even though T isn't specifically motorcycle wet clutch approved, tests posted on bob the oil guy show it's safe for wet clutches. It wasn't able to be JASO-MA certified due to its high ash content.

And re: your original question, I would consider Rotella T a few grades under the quality of Motul 5100.

Yeah, this stuff will also get beat up pretty quick.. I sometimes use it as my winterizing oil. Come spring, I put on 1500-2000km and change it out with T6 which I push for 5000-6000.

I've been using T6 in my CBR for ages now and just passed 50,000 km with no issues other than my camchain tensioner is sounding like a diesel haha..
