off duty cop tries to run me off the road for lane filtering....

But Holmes did provide the entertainment.

Eh. Sometimes.
Most of the time he's that typical "I am the greatest, I ride hard" type of character and his posts are actually annoying.
Recently he's been getting better though.

But yeah. Still not a good idea to call the owner of the forum dumb lol, that was entertaining.

Is it too late for milk and cookies?

so I change lanes in order to avoid his bumper and go around him

wrong move. you shouldve gotten back away asap, not try to pass or get near him.

I moved sideways in my own lane ( in my car) to let a biker filter. And it felt good. Do i get charged?

I wouldn't think so, you were being a defensive driver. :)
If someone does a legal pass over the broken yellow lines, you're still responsible to make sure the passer has enough room to get by and to let him ahead of you.

I love filtering, especially on Queen St. West. On the rare occasion I even go on the sidewalk or cut the corner at a gas station.

finally someone else with some balls...Also +1 to taking closed roads, going off road on a street bike AND riding on the other side of the orange pylons when they're blocking a whole damn lane. hahahahaha, all you law lovers holding yourselves back thinking its out there for your best interest. Gimme a F'n break.

Closed roads: check
Off road on street bike: check
Other side of pylons: semi-check (I slalomed a couple to freak out the gf)

Closed Road: 3 points
Off-road on a Street Bike: Whatever floats yer boat
Other Side of Pylons: Handcuffs and a trip to jail, if workers are present

That's why I was selective of when and where I performed this.
Also there was extremely light traffic and no other vehicles around me for at least 100m.
I know that the above would mean absolutely nothing to an officer, but I have a theory that if you want to do something stupid, be smart about it.

I love filtering in LA. Its the drivers attitude that differ here and there The cop in the OP's story is like a bible zealot stoning the OP for going againts 1 commandment and it goes to all people getting mad for bikers who are using the bikes in its full efficient ability to share lanes.

Chances of getting caught doing these downtown: 0%

Try not doing these when living and riding in downtown. You'll tear your hair out from all the construction zones, closed lanes, traffic, ganged up streetcars etc.

Would've been really tempted to let him hit me, just enough to make a small accident, just to get him fired.
Not that cops committing manslaughter actually fired...
