No show demo

Probably didn't want to spend a week shining up the chrome for winter storage...

Bet me to it.. Yep, most HD guys I am aware of are fair weather garage queens... ;-)

Just joking so hold off the flaming

Having worked Harley demos the policy is not to let the customers go out in the rain on bikes for safety/insurance reasons. The demo bikes and trailer are owned by Deeley's (Harley Canada) in Toronto and they set the rules (same with safety gear etc). The local dealer pays them to send the demo trailer there. Then most of the staff gets called in on demo days (no day off) and they assist the 2-3 people with the demo rig in running the show. When it's all over the shop staff get to fill the bikes up at the local gas stop, help clean/wash all models, and put them back on the truck for the next demo day. I believe there are still currently two demo rigs/crews that cover all of Canada. Sucks for the staff and dealer to get rained out.

I know the girl who runs the truck. If its just a threat of rain, she'll run the bikes until the rain starts then it stops. So if she didn't, then that must mean the dealership asked her to not. Some dealerships love the demos some hate them. I don't remember Peterborough's view but following the truck a few years back when Gilligan was on it, was an eye opener.
