Ninja 250 vs 300?

Hi,

Has anyone tried the Ninja 300 yet? How much more power does it have compare to the 250? Insurance quote is the same for both bikes, I rode the 250 it was a bit slow but it does the job. How much faster is the 300? I think it will be better for commuting over the 250R

Thanks

Way faster, fuel injection vs carbs, everything about it is better better better. Get the 300, you won't be disappointed.

do you think the ABS worth the extra $500?
I would say yes. That one time when it's wet, paint, street car track, etc., there will be ONE time in the future where it will save your ***, so I say it's worth the extra.

It has 34 hp to the wheel. So I'd say it's faster. I have a deposit on one right now. Can't wait to try it out.

You don't really need abs either. I had it on my cbr 250 and didn't really use it.

And fyi, wet paint and street car tracks have nothing to do with stopping distance (which is what abs if for).

Uhmmmmm ABS modulates the brakes so you can maintain control over the vehicle in low traction scenarios.. Doesn't really help your stopping distance

Actually abs will decrease stopping distance in some conditions while increasing it in others. The main purpose of abs is to prevent wheel lock up and be able to maintain control of the car/bike while braking, just like firestart said

And imo its worth the money

I have the 300 w/ ABS. Rained like tits on my ride home today and the ABS paid for itself when a beige corolla slammed on her brakes to make a last-minute right turn

NICE!!! Like I said, ABS will save EVERYONE at least once!!!

How do you like the 300 in general? Is it your first bike? I wouldn't mind givin it a go sometime :)

I opted for the ABS because it's not something I could easily install myself if I decided I want it down the road. And for only $500, it's so worth it. Heck, I've spent way more than that in mods already ;)

It's my first bike so I'm not sure if it counts, but I've ridden the cbr125, cbr250, and ninja 250 when I did the msf and the 300 is just better all around. :D

I like it a lot, even better that it costs $12 to fill up, does 60mpg and only $60 to insure lol

It's tough to justify more than double the money on a 300 though.. I bought my '10 Ninja 250 for $3000 taxes in... to get a 300 I'd be close to $7000 out the door price.

So granted the 300 is better.. but look at the price difference!! $4000 for ABS, 50cc and FI. + I'll have to buy exhausts n shiz.

And for 7K I could easily get an '08 600cc

And don't forget it looks 10000x better then the 250 :p

I know of 2 people that have rode the new Ninja 300 and they both were very impressed with the performance of it. The fuel injection is one of the best things on the bike now. With the extra power and the bigger rear tire the bike handles and performs amazing in the turns and around the city. Then you have the style of the bike. We have one beside the new Ninja 636 and many people walk right past it not knowing that it is the 300. Very impressive bike and the reviews on the bike and been great.

Ninja 300, slightly less slow than the really slow 250, at twice the cost!

Skip it and buy a big kid's bike, you won't wanna sell it after a season.
