The plan is to leave Toronto and jump out of a plane at noon Sat. Aug. 27th.

Can anyone with knowledge of the scenic back roads of the Niagara region help me put a ride together from Toronto to Skydive Burnaby?

I know a few good routes to get down there.

If I am free I dont mind leading a ride....
 
wow this is so wicked fun! skydiving right??!!?? i have always wanted to do that but never had a chance, ~doing everything once in a lifetime is all we need, life is too short, enjoy it while we can~....im very interested in this event, but, with my cbr125 umm....i havent been on the highway, ....so....i'll be checking this post often for updates

my friend whent skydiving for his 30th bday, it didn't seem that exciting, ur falling out of a plane big woop
 
Hey frekeyguy, we would love to follow one experienced in those back roads. MacDoc from another thread has some great routes too.

We would love to have a caravan of bikes join us. So far 4 brave souls including myself and son have paid the deposit to skydive. My son will be following my bike in the car (won't get on the back of the bike).

I'm interested in organizing a ride from the GTA to Skydive Burnaby. There are 4 confirmed Skydivers as of today.

The ride would be all day with local riding at Wainfleet (Skydive Burnaby).

I'm looking to have several meeting points along the way, such as Scarborough, Pearson, Oakville Ford Plant, Hamilton etc. Leaders and sweepers and others knowing the area from Mississauga to Wainfleet are welcomed to ride or pass on suggestions - routes, places to see and places to eat?

It would be awesome if a local rider(s) can take the group of non Skydivers on a tour of the area, while we jump from the plane?

We will need to find a place to eat after the jump, can anyone make any suggestions for local dining?

Looking forward to jumping out of a plane and having a great ride to boot.

We did skydive in PA last year. Its less 300 with video included and much
More better motorcycle route :).

But personaly i enjoyed bungee jumping more-- ride to otawa

I'll be jumping that day. If you're uncomfortable riding the highway just hop in Seabreez's family's car or two-up with someone who's going.

backy - get off your butt and come along :)
 
So far there are 7 interested parties:

All riders are invited to join in in on any leg of this journey. Please post if interested in riding with us - 1st leg is Hwy 401 though.

Arrive with a full tank and empty bladder. Bike in working order.

Draft ride plan:

Myself (SeaBreez) riding (Vulcan Cruiser), my wife and son in our SUV, [wife (non jumper) and son (1st Tandem too)] and hardwrkr13 will meet up at:

Meet up location 1: 8:00 at Tim's Hwy 2, East of Port Union Rd on the south side.

Depart: 8:15 am

Across 401 to meet up with Rohan27 and frekeyguy (if able to join us).

Meet up location 2: 9:00 am (Rohan27 and frekeyguy can determine spot -close to 401 or 403).

Depart: 9:15 am.

The 6 of us and any additional riders can follow frekeyguy to meet up with MacDoc (if able to join us) and any other riders at:

meet up location 3: 10:00 am (near Hamilton or that area?) Any suggestions frekeyguy or MacDoc?



Hopefully this can start the wheel turning to getting the ride underway.

All suggestions and modifications welcomed.

(did I mention this is going awesome!)

We should plan out an exact place for me and possibly frekeyguy to meet up with you.
 
Agreed. It won't be a problem. Since frekeyguy and MacDoc know the roads I'll wait to hear their suggestions first. Failing that, we can easily determine a meet up spot.

I will wait for frekeyguy and MacDoc to come up with suggested meet up locations in the west end, since they know the area. Failing that, we can find and post a location too. I think we should PM our cell numbers to each other.

Question: Direct route to jump site or or take the back way in?

Example:

Take 401 - 403 - QEW to Vineland; exit 57 (Victoria Ave. Hwy 24) which leads into Hwy 3 to Burnaby?


Or get off at Stoney Creek and take the back way in?

Nah I don't need to stop for breakfast. Not being a morning person I'm already getting up earlier than I want to be.
Let me know if/where we're meeting up with frekeyguy/rohan and I'll likely meet you there so I can sleep in a bit longer.
