My wife and I have decided this will be our new hobby. I will be looking for a lot of advice. Thank you in advance.

I am 6'3" 230lbs. Looking at Yamaha Stryker 1300
my wife is 5'10" 145lbs and is looking at a 2005 Vulcan 800cc

Any comments regarding the bikes we are looking at is appreciated.

Welcome to GTAM. Rider training program and buy the best gear you can afford.

Ummm.. Y'got any gophers out there that need shootin'...?

Oh... and welcome to the family.

Welcome aboard!

Bikes?? Are these your first bikes? With all the great gravel to travel in Saskatchewan what about some smaller displacement dualsports? Would make good learners.

No love for the gravel? Then sure why not cruisers. Again if they're you're first rides I'd still suggest starting with smaller displacements.

Start off on something too big and one could easily be turned off. Start off on something smaller, lighter, easier and maybe the hobby sticks. Upgrading bike size is way easier than trying to convince the often bitten twice shy Squeeze to get on and give it another go. At least I think it could be, would be.

Welcome, it's an exciting hobby, have fun, but be safe!

How's the wind? :ROFLMAO:

The advantage of both motorcycles is you can probably get them cheap.
They are not my style of riding but they will not drastically depreciate in value if you decide they are wrong for you.
I survived 47 years of Alberta weather and suggest not going cheap on gear.
Just get out there and see where it takes you.

I have fun memories of my rides through Sask. :)
