I went to see Tim today at V Twin Cycle.

A really nice guy. The kind of old school mechanic that is really hard to find anymore. I will be taking my VStrom in around the end of the month.

Not a lot of practice doing valves when you work on two strokes. That said you're a bike guy how hard could strom valves be?

Doing the valve adjust myself would take me too much time. It is a bit more complicated than my old two-strokes. To do the valve adjust, there is a lot of part removal.

I want my bike to be trouble free for the summer. My VStrom, I just want to ride it, not work on it.

Besides, I like to take my time when doing bike work. At the rate I like to work, it would likely take a month to do the VStroms valves.

I bought it new in 2021 mostly for the James Bay trip in 2022. I had talked to a buddy at work about the ride and he was keen. He had a VStrom and sold me on the reliability and ride comfort.

Home Renos - NO, Done with that, we tore our old house down to the foundation and rebuilt it in 1999.
Politics - NO, most politicians are dickheads.
Boats - NO
Economy - MEH, I am retired and have a comfortable pension. My wife has been very frugal over the years and that helped alot.
Watches - NO
Booze - NO, well Maybe as long as the drink is Bumbu rum.
Electric Cars - Too soon, not developed enough yet.

I am a 69 year old who has been riding for about 50 years.

I like to motorbike camp. I go with my son who has a 2014 Suzuki Vstrom. We've been to several provincial parks in Ontario and in 2022 we did the James Bay/Billy Diamond Highway trip.

I also have a couple of Kawasaki triples I am in the process of restoring. The green one is done and the red one is a work in progress.

How did that go? I've been a couple times. First time we ditched my buddies Ninja on the way up. (the little trooper did 1600kms pillion on a ZRX before buying a bike in Quebec on the way home)

We were super lucky with the weather. It was in the high 20s everyday.

We also had a enclosed trailer towed by a support truck for the trip. That was a game changer.
