Over the last week been talking to LBD (Local Bike Dealer) and doing some research. I set a price i would accept for a trade of the Majesty and
a low point / high point for the out the door cost of a new bike. Doing the Craiglist selling dance is a pain these days so would rather trade. Do not loose that
much when factoring in time spent selling and the tax savings.
top of my list was a 2016 Honda NC750X DCT. Also under consideration was a Yamaha FZ07 and FJ09. I rejected the FZ mainly because of no ABS plus would have to had
added a windscreen and top or side cases. The FJ was close and similar in price to the NC but with the FJ it would put me in the next more expensive insurance tier.
plus i really do like the twist n go aspect of the scooter.
So on Friday I traded the 2015 Yamaha Majesty in on a new 2016 Honda NC750X DCT. The dealer worked out a price that was lower
than my set low point so i went for it. Was kind of unusual in that in the past i kept old bike and left a deposit. But dealer
asked if i would trade that day as a deposit. Said would give them a chance to sell it considering this is the start of their busy season. I sad ok since i would more than likely
just park the bike at home as technically it not my bike anymore.
the only downside is now i have to wait for new bike to come in. They said they on list for May delivery but said they put out a feeler to another dealer with a NC due in April
will try to trade their May bike for that April bike.
