This thing was long in the tooth. Needed the metal grill plate and one leg was rotted off. Was gonna toss it, then the real me kicked in. The leg repair was easy with a scrap of angle iron. $30ish for the new plate. "This thing should be good for another 5 or 6 years Babe".
Maybe 3 uses later it won't start and the inlet tubes are rotted away...
Picked up a Napoleon 3 burner a few months back, about $550. Replaces our $250 Canadian Tire Master Chef? that was a gift when we moved in. The grille plates on that thing and the burner covers rotted quickly. After replacing everything 2x I had practically reached the value of the unit in the first place.
My friend has had a Napoleon NG for 10 years and his grille plates look pristine. I asked about his upkeep routine and he looked at me like I was crazy.
"Elbow grease when grille is hot, use non stick spray before cooking. Done"
My Napoleon is vintage 1990, I bought it for my parents.
Napoleon still honour their lifetime warranty, recently sending me new burners. Everything else it original except the igniter which I upgraded to a piezo.
My boat club has just been gifted these grills by a member that hated our Weber NG summit units , these things are dual hood thirty six inch four burners a side , seventy two inches total , and he gave us two of them . Crown Verity commercial .
That gas feed looks like a we are smelting aluminum . Apparently ten grand each at retail . Hope they don’t get stolen .

I don’t like Weber grills either, had 2 and under moderate residential use they both were scrap inside 10 years.
I could never get them up to ‘sear my steak’ temps, and found you had to know the particular bbq you were using as they each have their own hotspots. Personally I think Weber makes average bbqs but has been able to market them as a premium product at premium prices.

Ducane used to be the play. 90% of weber quality for <30% of weber money. My $300 Ducane lasted about 13 years and only parts needed were flame deflectors for $20. Weber killed them off as they want people to buy spirits at a far higher price point for basically the same bbq.

Even heat and high BTU's make a BBQ.
I had 3 others before the Verity. All had specific spots that were hot enough to sear. Biggest change was even heat through out.
We had a Ducane when they were made in Carolina before they got bought by Weber . It was very good but twenty yrs of three to five days a week grilling service yr round , it was done . Budget allowed a Broil King as replacement and I’ve been very happy with the high heat available and it’s been rebuilt once in a decade . In five to seven yrs when it’s done a Crown Verity will take its place. It’s Mercedes pricing model , but it will outlive me .
