I was planning a long weekend trip this summer to do some riding in N/W pennsylvania.
Im taking the wife so I would like a resort/hotel to stay for a couple of days.
Any recommendations would be appreciatted.

I stayed at the Best Western in St Marys PA. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. There is the usual assortment of fast food, walmart and grocery stores in St Marys. It's only 2.5 hours from Buffalo and surrounded by lots of good roads.

Thanks for all the feed back.
Grove city and st marys is perfect, we can do 1 night at each and make a long weekend out of it.
The PA Wilds guide is great.
Thanks again guys :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I would look for a cottage to rent somewhere, usually works out to be the same price as a hotel, if not cheaper, and have a much much nicer place to stay. My parents rented a cottage on a river near Wellsboro PA for a week a few years ago, beautiful area, lots of nice riding around, great area for hiking wildlife and a little town that has some nice restaurants and shops. I think it worked out to about $100 US a night, maybe a bit less, for the week.

If you go to Grove City, you MUST go to North Country Brewery and pub in Slippery Rock; it's only one interchange south. It has the most incredible food and beer you could ever find. Not kidding.

Also, the Morraine State Park is cool to take in as well as McConnells Mills State Park. McConnells Mills has a great little river running through it that's great for swim as well as cool formations created by glaciers that carved out the area. Nice roads in there too.

Ridden and driven the area many time.

Erie State Park on the southeastern tip of Lake Erie had one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen.

Quaker Steak & Lube just over the border in Ohio (original location) is a must-stop for road food/car/bike lover.

Allegheny Forest is beautiful.

Warren PA is the home of Zippo lighters- they have a neat free museum. And you can buy Firecrackers at Keystone Fireworks (can't get them here anymore!)

And if you like food, we found a place called Gio's BBQ is western PA on a road trip with our boys last summer that was some of the best BBQ I've had! Look it up, worth the trip.

The area of western New York state near PA is considered 'wine country'. There are a lot of resorts and B & B's in the area.

I was down that way last spring, and stayed at Gunner's in St. Mary's. Lots of good roads in the area, and Gunners was.... interesting. Not ISO registered, but a lot of charachter. It did attract a few motorcyclists.
