so, a few weeks in. while i love the power boost, i miss the ease of use. easier to park, to turn, to dive around the city. obviously, the lack of power on the 125 sucks, but it's not noticeable in the city, where i do most of my driving. i love the ninja, but i didn't need it. 125 owners, stay strong!
SO this thread has been a good joke.
OP - Did you change your mind? How is the 300 now?
It's faster than my old honda interceptor 500 by a long shot.
I haven't changed my mind, and I won't go back. The 300 is a very nice upgrade for me. It handles nicely (but not as crisply in the city) and the power upgrade is amazing. It's faster than my old honda interceptor 500 by a long shot. top speed is fast enough. i generally don't go over 150 anyway. but thanks for asking. the smaller bike riders out there should feel no shame, though (of which i am, obviously part of). smaller handles well, just... slower. and i think that answers my original question: i don't think bigger is necessarily better. it's just faster. and you can go further. different spokes for different folks!
Allow me to doubt that. 68hp/443lbs wet for the VF500F vs. 35hp/380lbs wet for the Ninja.

I reckon a tired out old interceptor 500 would absolutely feel slower and bulkier than a brand new ninja 300. I owned the 500 once. Hated every minute of it. Don't imagine with all the years later and miles on them that I'd like it any better. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. :dontknow:
