Drum brakes are the hurdle. New cert requires pics showing I.D. measurement of drum and thickness of shoe so they have to come apart.Yeah, I can see that point, but I'm pretty comfortable in that I believe I know the general condition of my bikes vis-a-vis a safety. I'm not one for aftermarket exhausts or flush mount signals etc. so not a concern.
I AM CONCERNED about getting a safety for my Norton Commando. Drum rear brakes combined with an uncommon rear wheel removal/installation setup would be an issue for someone unfamiliar with it. When the time comes I'll bring the manual.
Inglis will schedule it for 7PM. He does everything until the drum brakes. Then sits back, eats the burger you brought him while you use his tools to get the drum apart. He measures, snaps pics and then you reassemble it. I doubt many shops will work with you like that.
