Moto Guzzi @ BMW Toronto

Hey everyone!

For those of you who don't already know, BMW Motorrad Toronto is the new and only authorized dealer of Moto Guzzi in the city of Toronto! Im super excited about this because it finally gives Moto Guzzi the support its been lacking in the Canadian market.
If anyone has any questions or comments or suggestions on how to help make Moto Guzzi great again I would love to hear them.

Anyone can email me anytime at Matthew.Quesnel@bmwtoronto.ca

Truer words were never spoken. Do you have a California Vintage in stock yet?

I'm looking for my first bike and the V7 is on my list. Anyone know if it's a good first bike? It's in my price range, but everyone says I should start off with something smaller.

I'd probably go with a different first bike. Get a bike you won't cringe if you drop and/or need to repair.

I think your choice in getting a V7 shows you got taste buddy, go for it. It's about as harmless as an sv650 or Monster except it exudes mucho style,.

Which one were you thinking the "cafe" or the regular V7? Either one, a Guzzi is a man's bike!

I grew out of the "proving my manhood" phase years ago, what I'm looking for is a bike comparable to what I have now. One that offers a comfortable seating position, hard saddlebags and a fairing or decent sized windshield. The Guzzi California was always on my short list, but a lack of dealer network and support knocked it out of the running every time. I'm guessing Guzzi doesn't make them anymore...?

They certainly do, just look at the 2010 Guzzi line. You can get the classic, with the bags & screen, or the Nera, naked .

Take Care Out There

Yes, I finally looked at the Guzzi website a couple days ago, the Classic still makes my heart skip a beat. Hopefully, BMW Toronto will be at the bike show next month and I can get a closer look at one.

question.... how do you plan to improve support for these bikes?
Will you be stocking a larger amount of parts for them? or are you still going to be ordering from PiaggioUSA?

thats a great question, and thats exactly one of the reasons that I started posting on the Forums, so I could see how to improve the support. Right now I am trying to answer any questions people have about there bikes and bikes they may be thinking of getting. The other side of this is mechanical support for the bikes and we are doing this by getting all of our techs trained and refreshed on everything Guzzi. The biggest place I see for improvement is exactly what you pointed out and thats the relationship between Piaggio USA and Moto Guzzi community. This will take time and effort on everyones part. So any feedback on areas that you think can be improved on would be appreciated. email me anytime at Matthew.Quesnel@bmwtoronto.ca

Actually, the problem is not so much Dealer-Customer, as Motoguzzi Italy, through the Parent company there, to the main importer here.
No matter how many millions of dollars of stock you may carry, there is allways gona be that one little part, that someone needs, and you don't have, and it takes MONTHS to get it from Italy.
That, is the root of the problem.
So perhaps try to establish contacts behind the scenes, so you have a Fast Track solution for the Unexpected.
That would be Brill !
Take care Out There

Matthew at MG Toronto (uh, I mean BMW Toronto), thanks, and I appreciate your efforts but dude you're alone there. I hope you can hold on and hold off all those that are working against you. It's not just BMW, been to a Honda dealership and asked about a bike? The suits don't get it, car salesmen can't sell bikes. Now you want a BMW salesman to sell MG.

Motoguzziman - you hit the nail on the head, one of my bikes is a KTM and I get parts from Italy and Switzerland regularly. The net is great. I just look up a list of bike shops and drop them a line. 9 of 10 times they're great. They are very helpful and short of a few most ship no issue. I've got some good contacts with folks I never met. Then again they are bike folks looking to help out another biker.

I wish MV Agusta in Vaughan would have picked up the MG line.

The salesman I spoke to at BMW Toronto was a rider. Cool guy, zero attitude and no bias towards BMW vs the other brands they had at the time. I had a good interaction with one of the car salesman downstairs as well. Based on my experience I wouldn't hesitate to give them my business.

I'll do you one better: check out Corsa Meccanica, which IS in Vaughan! They are a great sales and service shop specializing in MG, Aprilia and some other italian machines.

+1 on this. Take a ride north to Corsa. Tell George Dave sent you. I own two BMW's, an S1000RR and a 650 Dakar and I was was informed recently Toronto BMW will no longer service my 2002 Dakar. Who do you think has earned my business? Warranty work for the S1RR to BMW and everything else to Corsa.

And thanks for sending me packing Toronto BMW. Next bike was going to be a GS Adventure but I'm taking a long hard look at a Stelvio now.
