Whats up ya'll!

Getting my second bike after owning a 250 Ninja for a month about fifteen years ago.

Got a nice deal on a new 24 CBR500R should be taking possession this Friday and doing my M2 the following week.

Lived south to north and back south again, looking to get out of sports cars and into sport cruisers.

The north has amazing roads but I havent found the same for the south sadly. Hoping to meet some good people and get out riding around here.

I was after a Yamaha MT03 for a nice lightweight city bike, did not like the feel of the R3 and just kept eyeing the CBR. Finally sat on it and was sold.

I like the CBR500R for its extra weight, longer wheel base, better shocks, brakes and tires. Plus I feel its overall a more premium bike.

Seeing that insurance on a CBR650R wasnt any more I sat on that but didn't like how it held its extra weight nor wanted to spend more money because insurance is F'ing expensive in general. The Yamaha would have been a bit less but the Honda stole my heart.

Already got my gear months before choosing the bike just to insure myself I had to get one lol Joe Rocket kept me in one piece before so I bought another. Picked up a nice Valintino Rossi AGV helmet 🇮🇹 but I already want more gear!

Shout out to DeWildt Powersports, they are a huge help and great people to deal with. Buying a vehicle or bike they are good people!

I'm guessing no one warned you that motorcycles are merely a gateway drug to motorcycle parts and gear.

Welcome!

Welcome to GTAM!

Welcome back to riding and to GTAM.

There are several threads on here that recommend good riding roads all over southern Ontario. I agree that the roads to the north are more fun because they are generally less crowded. Just how far south did you move?

Im close to Winona now, roughly where I grew up.

I was living in the Kawarthas and up in Greater Sudbury. Place was heaven lol Id go back in a heart beat.

Gotta make the best of big city living now, one red light to another.

Welcome
Good choice on the size of size of motorcycle.
Don,t let anyone tell you you need 1500cc to go on the highway.
Check out OpenStreetMap for the roads colored yellow or white.

Must be a work related move. Why else would anyone choose to relocate from either the Kawarthas or Sudbury. There are quite a few good bike roads down your way. Check some of the posts on here for some suggestions.

I usually ride north from Orangeville when I want to relax. I worked in TO for 38 years and have no intention to go play in traffic when I want to enjoy a ride. Being retired also allows me to ride on weekdays when there's even less traffic.

Orangeville isnt to far from me. I would meet out there if you wanted some company.

Less crowded. Less policed. More twisty.

Then you ave a who other world - dirt highways.

I love the North.
