The next few years should be fun to watch this team. They signed Nikita Zaitsev, Mitch Marner is the OHL MOP, they are going to draft Austin Matthews, along with the kids they brought up this year, and they will sign Steven Stamkos. It's a good time to be a leaf fan. It will be a few years before they are a contending team, but leading up to that will be good hockey.

This is the first time they are doing it the right way. We've always traded away draft picks, now we are acquiring picks to build the foundation. We have the right people in the right jobs for the first time. Nothing is ever guaranteed, just look at Edmonton, lots of great young talent but they still lose on a regular basis. It's all in the coaching of these kids, and Babcock it great at bringing out the best in his players.
