Somewhat related. I recently found out my favorite shaving cream, Gillette Foamy MENTHOL is quite painful. I like it on my face. The menthol numbs and cools my face a bit. When I put it on my balls it had the same pleasant refreshing feeling. Then it started to get stronger and stronger. In the end they were on fire. Quite unpleasant.
