Looking for input/advice

I'm currently stuck trying to choose between to similar bikes. 2009 gsxr 600 and a 2008 R6. Both have nearly no km's on them and priced pretty closely. I've been out of the bike scene for quite some time so I was just looking for the good and the bad if you have had experience on either. I'm coming from an older zx7r and haven't ridden in a few years so I'm sure the power will be more than enough. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance.

p.s. sorry if this is in the wrong area.

Sounds like former race bikes.

Sorry, I may be paranoid: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?168257-Buyers-beware

Unfortunately some dimwit moved that valuable thread where you have to pay to see it, but bottom line don't buy from Colin in Brampton.

too sharp

the 04/05 is smooth, flows like a beautiful woman hahahha

For a street bike, Triumph 675 is my favorite bike in this class ... but I haven't ridden one. I don't think I'd want to race one. Parts for any of the Japanese bikes are more readily available.

You need to first tell people what are you looking to use the bike for

- Commute? = GSXR since it is the most comfortable riding position
- Track? = R6 since it has more high end range
- Weekend Road trips? = GSXR (same reason as above)
- Posing at timmies = Get a honda
- Long trips = Neither
- Day rips to 507 etc = GSXR 750
- Never get laid = Ninja 250 ... I kid

This post actually makes the most sense.
Break it down to what you are going to use the bike for and make your decision based on that.

A lot of people complain about the stupid-aggressive seating position of the R6.
It's something to consider.

I would personally go for the GSX-R and I'm not being biased.
Mine has been bulletproof since I bought it in 2010.

I :lmao: at work over that one. Not that there's anything wrong with a ninja 250 but it was funny. I think pretty much I'm leaning towards the gsxr. While I don't see any track time in my near future, from what I've read so far on the interwebs it sounds like I would be more comfortable on the gsxr. Work is a whopping 1000 feet away so it will be a weekend toy for day trips and such.

After starting this thread and reading some of the replies I've come to the conclusion I'm going to like it around here. Thanks for the help so far. :D

hmm let me guess...you ride one, that's why?
No, its the reason I bought one!

Its a matter of personal taste. But let me tell you, most owners who have one are not willing to let it go.
The minute I saw mine's on sale, I was salivating like an animal, I immediately snatched it.

I would have to agree...i had a 04 and a 05 :)

Is that your bike in your pic? 05 I assume??
Love the yellow, yellow is gansta :D
Theres not alot of yellow around

ya that was my 05 limited edition, had a 04 black/orange before that

yellow eh? f*** that lol

My bias in the looks dept. is the gsxr mostly because of color. Here are two pictures if color was ever a factor (aesthetics does play a part of your purchase) I do also know you can't make this purchase based on looks which is why I made this thread. Thanks for the input so far folks.

That 09 gsxr was my dream bike when it came out but the R6 has been a dream bike since early 2000. Still one of the sexiest bikes out there. I was a bit surprise at how high the seating was on the R6 though, just as high as my 848 and just as aggressive. The gixxer I get mixed feelings though, sometimes it looks sexy sometimes it looks retarded.

It never looks retarded

unless you drop it at 5km/hr on gravel while looking back at someone to make sure they don't fall in gravel

Yeh, yellow & orange were the limited colours. I've seen the orange in person, but never the yellow

Man even though you're just joking or compensating for a little dick, I gotta come to the defense of the lil Ninja. The 87-07 I completely agree. While I'm sure it looked cool at the start of its life 20 years later it was waaaay too outdated and dorky.
The new one was without a doubt one of the best looking new releases for 08. I really don't see how anyone can disagree. Its 110% ****able and I guarantee can get you laid, and it looks better than many bigger bikes, besides 95% of women could either give a **** less or don't know jack **** about cc's. If you think you ain't gonna get pussy because of it, you're just lacking where it really matters. If you're gonna make fun of any bike based on size and looks
at least pick on the 125...

Tell me this doesn't scream sexy timeless beauty...

and just to point out when I say "you" I don't specifically mean you, I'm referring to anyone with that opinion...
