Sir you clearly are under the impression that this is Google Maps or Mapquest or some other kind of inertnet based route planner. It is not it is a motorcycle forum :P

Try maps.google.com Addjust the route as you like to avoide anthing you consider fast.

Look up Gooderham, ON in google maps... Its at the junction of 507/503. Make your own route.

Here's a google map with a possible route.

"A" to "E" takes you to the top end of 507. (There are a lot of ways to get there but the route I put on the map is enjoyable.) The rest is some nice riding roads if you want to make a day of it.

"E" to "F" is CR3 or Glamorgan Rd. Kind of a 507 north. The section east of "F" that goes by Loons Lake is one of the prettiest sections in the Haliburton area. EssonvilleRd has some semi switchbacks that are a lot of fun. "G' to "H" is Elephant Lake Rd and Peterson Rd. The eastern half of Peterson had a lot of sand a few weeks ago but I think I read it is much better now. I haven't been on the section from Bancroft through Farady to Wollaston this year, and 504 had alot os sand a month or two ago.

After that I would tend to go south of rice lake taking Rice Lake road but there are tons of choices of roads. Nothing Challenging but lots of "feel Good" roads.

btw, "La Gondola" in Hastings has great Panzarotto! It's on HWY45 (Bridge St) just north of the river on the west side.

for those that got my directions .. you will see from Vtoms map where you shortcut out Lindsay. And ride along the lake for most part ..

Ill post em here so the PM's will stop .. lol ..

12 north up towards Port Perry
Travel through port perry on hwy 7
-left onto 57 towards Caserea
-right at the stop sign in Caserea
-follow to the end at hwy 35 make left
-make a right onto Mount Horeb road
-follow that to the end, make right which takes you into Omemee
-at the bank ( intersection) make a left.
-follow this road ( cant recall name) until you see the stop sign, with red blinking light above it.
-make a right. This will take you along the lake into bobcaygeon
-at the end of this road, make a right which puts you onto 36.
-top of that 36, at stop sign make a right. Follow this road to the 507 which will be on your left.
-Top of 507, make a left.
-Make a right onto #3 (glamorgan road)
- At the top of this road .. left takes you to Haliburton ( stop just outside of it and go up to Skyline drive, it overlooks the town)
-A right at the top of Glamorgan road, gets you going towards elephant lake/peterson road.

Hey Guys, sorry to hijack.

But what do you think of this route?, yes I know there is a lot of 407 but I want to get that area behind me.

If you see a rider slowly counter leaning his way through a curve at 18,000 rpms in 1st gear, pull over and wait for him to get well clear of the area. :book:

I'd probably skip the 407 part and head up over Newmarket and go through Little Britain; but it would take more time.

If you do want to go 407 go up Brock road instead of Lakeridge as there is a lot of construction on 7 east of 407 because of the 407 expansion. A couple of firends have gotten tickets on 7 in the construction zone while going 75 kph at night as the construction signs are posted at 50 kph; and police will ticket you even if no one is around (and even though the normal limit is 80.)

Thanks Tom,

Yea, I want the 407 to help speed up where I want to go. But thanks for the tip on the construction, I'll be sure to note that.

Cheers.

Last time I was up the 507 there were a ton of bikes and OPP.. just beware as I dont think bikers have a good name up that ways

I was given a bit of a heads up by a nice lady at the restaurant at Gooderham. She is a felow rider and when I was there Saturday and mentioned my ride, she told me to be careful on 118 around Tory Hills. Apparently there seem to be 3 moose around this area and its common for them to be spotted on the road.

v-TOM nice ride, I shall be doing this on my next available weekend.

Do you mean like this:

I think you might be talking about Emily Park Road/#10.
