Looking for a good welder/fabricator in Toronto? (non-motorcycle related request)

Howdy,

I have recently started a new furniture making business and I need somebody local that is able to make some components for me. They would need a fully equipped shop with press, jigs etc.

Here is the business: www.sonofawoodcutter.ca and I am looking for somebody to make the legs and base-frames locally.

Cheers guys, any suggestions?
 
Looks like you neeed some one with a decent pipe bender, and a mig/tig welder. =) Tig if u really care about welds... Mig with GAS maybe...

Buy me some tools and materials :D I'd gladly practice on me ^_^ ...

Doesnt look too hard =\.
 
Hey Dead Banana, yeah mig for the steel, tig for the stainless, I'm a handy welder too but I am on a budget so I need to outsource. Also, ever tried welding in a woodworking shop? Ha ha ha

thats pretty simple metal work, should be available from one of about 100 shops in T.O.,

I would contact imetal in Weston if you have enough volume to run, Regotech in Milton is a good choice on stainless, K-weld in Burlington would be another good option, speak with Dan.

Find a guy you like (can afford to deal with) and make friends, once they configure some jigs or patterns for your projects it should make repetitive orders fast and simple.

good luck, the furniture has a nice look to it. I was just at the cottage life show, recycled materials and rustic looks are pretty hot right now.
 
Talk to Jim @ Full Fusion Welding. He's a problem solver and very easy to work with.

Thanks for the leads, they all look useful. That is the goal actually, find someone that I can make a strategic partner, where we can both benefit. The first poster has left me with a very strong lead, I will see how that works out and let you guys know.

Yes, the cottage scene is certainly something I will look into chasing this summer. Thanks for the comments, feedback has been good so far.
