Hello everyone,
I've been a member/lurker on GTAM for several years when I first got my M2 and took a rider training course, sparking my fire for 2 wheeling. Didn't actually end up getting a bike back then due to several reasons... I'm a diehard gearhead (long live the manual transmission!) and car enthusiast having owned and extensively modified quite a few cars over the years, loads of track time and back road carving. You can bet I'm a lover of anything with a motor that communicates back to it's driver. Few things are as enjoyable as an empty twisty road with you and your machine on a beautiful day.
I'm finally ready to take the plunge and get a bike for this season. Being older (28) helps the maturity level with respecting powerful machines whether 4 wheels or 2, and I guess the drastically lower insurance rates don't hurt either
I'm glad I didn't get a bike when I was 22, surely I would've thought with my dick moreso than my brain while riding :lmao:
That said, I'm almost dead-set on a KTM RC390. I love the fact that its uncommon, unique, and just drop dead sexy. Initially I wanted a used Daytona 675, but I think its best I learn the basics on a smaller/slower bike. I'll be using a bike as a second vehicle - strictly for pleasure use on back roads and minimal highway time - so I think the KTM is a good choice for that despite some reviews listing it's more sporty nature as being uncomfortable on longer trips.
Anyhow, glad to be on here. Hopefully my next thread will be posted as a New Rider
