I'm looking to replace my tires with a harder compond touring versions on my Vstrom.

Any recommended manufacturers?

I'm using Pirelli Pilot Road 2CT's. So far I've logged about 20,000km's on them and they've still got a decent amount of meat left on them.
Excellent in both wet and dry!

I once got 26,500 km's out of a pair of Dunlop RoadSmart Sport/Touring tires on a GSXR750!
No chickens lines. Zero. Nada!:)
They held good at their edge at big excess speeds.
Dunlop's best wet weather tire of all tires that they make per their site.
Dual compound rear.

You want really long wear?
Metzler Me880 Marathons.

I put a Dunlop D607 rear tire on my 2005 Wee, and the tire felt great, but I can't give you any idea of how long it would have lasted, as the bike got written off about 6 months later. I put Distenza's on my '08 Strom this spring as I couldn't get the D607's, but find that although new, they aren't as nice as I remember the Dunlop to be...

There's many reviews up on the VSRI forum regarding tires specific to the 'Strom too.
