While security film is interesting, how did they connect it to the door? If it's just on the glazing, the glazing should stay as a sheet as it falls out of the frame. I guess the glazing putty may hold. It would definitely confuse a burglar that tried to gently tap the window to gain access. For the guy throwing a big rock through the window, I don't have high hopes.Break in home attempts...
2 weeks ago I had a company come by to reinforce the doors and install security film on the door glass, Bay windows and basement windows.
I'm not rich by any means, but if it means causing the adversary a long enough delay for the police to 'hopefully' respond, I'm all for it.
However at this rate I'm starting to wonder if its time to look into offensive security options
Sadly, your car makes you a target. Not as much as a lambo but more desirable than most.
EDIT:
Assuming you have an alarm (which you should as getting the clock started as soon as possible is your best defense as every burglary is successful if given enough time), try to add some sirens close to the entrances. That both makes it very uncomfortable for the burglar and dumps the siren noise into the neighbourhood through the smashed window to get more eyes on your situation.
