Light helmet recommendations

Check out the HJC RPHA. Same fit as the RSR2.

If I am not mistaKen, gp bikes is selling shark helmets. Personally I like shoei, find them light and breathable.

I love my x12. In comparison to my rf1100 it feels much lighter and less bulky. It's definitely more breathable too

It doesn't have to be a shark. I'm looking for a good fit + light weight. I'm looking for not just a manufacturer recommendation but a specific line they might have as many manufacturers have multiple lines.

I just ordered one. so you're happy with it?? happy to hear.

as for OP:

Kaos is Very light, but not as quality as other helmets mentioned. Im happy with mine, but have still opted for something better for select rides.
I like the HJC RPHA as someone above mentioned as well. helmet i was considering but decided to go with X 12.

another i Was looking at was BMW racing, very light and compact but $$$.

good luck. let us know what you decide.

The race R pro is pretty much in the same range (1650grams vs 1600grams) than the RSR2. However, for some reason the race r pro seems a lot lighter than the rsr2s that I've had..
The only downside of the race R Pro is more road noise due to obvious removal of noise damping foams and aggressive air vents (being a racing helmet than road/touring). But, nothing a good pair of headsets or ear protection can't fix.

Yeah I find it noticeably more comfortable than my rf. It was worth the price imo

Thanks for the feedback. good to know. I'm waiting for mine to arrive. :o

Thanks I'll check it out. Any Soumi or Shoei equivalent recommendations? How is AGV? I will probably stay away from Arai because of cost

The Race R Pro is significantly lighter than the shoei X12 and it's quiet. The bottom of the helmet has an extra right fitting piece that prevents air from entering the bottom of the helmet however it's the same price as the arai corsair-V and X12.

My RSR2 fit perfectly but I couldn't get any of the Soumy's to fit. Check out the Shoei X12.

Another vote for the HJC RPHA. Great helmet one of the best I've owned (Arai, KBC, HJC, Shoei)

How's the fit and finish? I'm a big fan of HJC helmets for the price point but I knew I wasn't getting the best materials and finish inside etc.

My AGV GP-Tech is light but discontinued. I would assume that the newer Corsa is also light.

I'm really picky so i'd say and 8 of 10 due to the rear plastic piece is off centered by 1-2mm paint and finish as well as the visor seal are excellent. Really my only gripe is it says "HJC" on it and the stigma that comes with it. At least on the newer models it doesn't say that and can be overlooked by the weight, pinlock function, ease of visor change and price. It is really one of the most overlooked helmets in the industry in my opinion. It was a hard sell for the salesman moving me out of an Arai and into an HJC.

I picked up a Shoei RF1200, and even compared to my 1100 i notice a big improvement! it feels lighter and more airy, and quieter.

Try one if you haven't already.
