LED lights in motorcycle

Has anyone ever had issues with putting LED lights on their bike..
We got pulled over in Bolton. We were told that the "red" light strips on front of bike need to come off. But the rest is good. As I have read we can't have red to front. Ok! We will take them and move them:)
But then I was told I need to take my "purple" lights off that are under my saddle bags attached to the frame......
Any comments
I have found letters from a police officer to other rider, sayin there are not illegal..

I have had these lights on my bike for a month now. No issues anywhere else.
before this set I had diff shade if purple for last 2.5 yrs. NO issues!!!!

most colours are pre-designated for certain things,
ie green for volunteer fire,
blue for snow,
red for brakes.

methinks it falls under htat.

If im not mistaken, you cannot have any type of light in the front other than your headlights and fog lights...anything else is considered a distraction. As for colours...you are allowed to use ANY colour as long as they do not flash/strobe in any way. To me i would suggest anyone night riding to have LED lights...the more lights the better. Our visibility is very low, and if these LED lights get peoples attention then they are workin! :)

It is 100% legal you can have any color you want as long as the Red and blue are not casting light forwards and no lights can be flashing.
If you ride like an idiot though, it will give them more of a reason to pull you over.

The no flashing is important by the way. I never have my lights flash on my bike or anything else. The reason is because it interferes with depth perception of another party. A steady light allows them to gauge how far away you are and how fast you are travelling. Flashing lights interfere with that and they can get too close at night as a result.

Flashing lights are not used in Europe for this safety reason.

While riding in the GTA, you'll be flashing all the time due to the roads here.
Can't get around that.

I have red LEDs on the back that are linked into my brake light, never had a problem.

I also have two red parking lights in the front but never been bothered about it either.

Well I don't ride like an idiot! I am a very safe rider!! I like to go home everyday to my family!!!

I've got red LEDs on mine and I also have red and white LEDs on the wheels. Haven't been harassed yet. I've only had 2 officers ask how I got the ones on the wheels to light up. They did have concerns for the red glow at the front and I told them that you can't see it at 150 meters because the headlight washes it out.

You got lucky then, the red doesn't have to be seen from 150m, if it can be seen from the front at any distance you can be charged under 62.15.
Its your headlights and turn signals that have to be seen from 150m.

I don't think it has much to do with luck, it's more about attitude and how you speak to them.

BTW I can see the glow of the rear lights of other vehicles from the front at less than 150m.
