Glad you are okay.. Dont let criticism get you down. Most guys mean well.
I went over the handlebars with under 100 km in my belt because i hammered the front brakes...That was four years ago. Hind sight it was the best thing to happen. I went and i practiced and respected the bikes , the brakes etc. And i still practice.
Go to a parking lot and practice..
First learn your front brakes. Dont fear them as they are your best stoppers.. When you are comfy with the fronts Then learn to add the rears...
