Time to watch "Lord of War" again.

I have, and it is entirely inline with my point. The gun leaves the factory door legit under that jurisdiction, after that... Nevermind buying "surplus" weapons (via an uncle...) that were at one time legitimately owned by a military...

As a reference lets look at some (most) of the most popular hand gun brands as used in crime and where they come from:

Glock -- Austria/USA.
Ruger -- USA
Sig Sauer -- Germany
Smith and Wesson -- USA
Springfield -- USA/Croatia
Taurus -- Brazil
Charter Arms -- USA

Hardly exhaustive and there may be some more offshore for these brands that I am not aware of but this gives a pretty good idea of "where" these guns are coming from (and where the companies are based). If it is not DIY made, they were legal sometime/somewhere....

Someday I'll open my school of marksmanship for gangsta's

Teaching these idiots "how" to shoot will result in fewer innocent bystanders getting shot.

A good friend did part of his internship in a downtown TO ER. Every now and again the cops "would bring someone in" that they exchanged fire with. He once asked the cops if they were scared of being shot, they said no as the gangstas all had the gun turned sideways, closed thier eyes and turned their heads when they fired, the safest place to be was where they were "aiming"

It would be slightly interesting to see how many of these gangsta's have actually put a bunch of lead into a target in an attempt to improve. It seems like most just use the gun in anger and blast away in the general direction of their opponent.

An enterprising gangster could make an absolutely terrifying sounding machine by skipping the bullets and building something that fired blanks at full-auto. That should send the opponent with a pea-shooter heading for the hills.

EDIT:
Toronto rapper Houdini was the latest shooting victim in Toronto. Why is it with most of the people being gunned down are rappers? They are in a gang and also rappers? They upset people with their lyrics? It seems to be bad for your life expectancy in Toronto to be a rapper.

'Saw a video recently where a car jacking attempt was thwarted by car horn that that was modified to produce the sound of gunshots... Crooks scattered and ran when they heard the "BANG" "BANG" "BANG" emanating from the car they were trying to jack... Lol

Man I've been riding an anti-theft bike this whole time and didn't even know.

Years ago a minister in New York City wanted to set up a target range for that exact reason. Didn't fly.

I find it interesting the gangsters have been quietly walking up on people and putting two the back of the head for decades, yet the gangstaas need to stand 100ft away and dump the magazine, often with a net zero result.

its not just marksmanship they need help with it's technique. Maybe forced to watch Goodfellas or Casino....

Alright, which one of you legal gun owners did this?

It wasn't me.
I was at work on conference calls all day...
Well, I am shocked. /s It wasn't long guns at all and JT's OIC will do nothing to mitigate this type of crime. I am sure the guy trying to murder someone using a handgun with a 30 round mag is quaking in his boots now that Big Bad Billy Blair is outlawing shotguns. What will he ever do?

It comes back to carding being criminalized to a larger extent than carrying a handgun. Everybody is packing. In the old days, you would have a shooter, now you have the shooter as well as the targets all returning fire.

"A lone gunman exits the passenger’s side of the Tiguan carrying a handgun with a high-capacity magazine.

The gunman is seen opening fire on Jenkins and in response, police say two of the victim’s friends, including the teenage boy, return fire."

Video of gunman running away while shooting behind him. Accuracy 101. That's why he went with 30 rounds. Shell casings from 9mm and .40 found.

Dirtbag with the big mag.

Looks like the officer has his finger on the trigger while he walks around. Nifty.
It looks like he is over the guard to me.

The comments online from leftist idiots (and I'm not saying EVERYONE from the left is dumb) are insane...

One special person commented that the ban must be working considering that an "assault rifle" was not used in this instance.

It would be funny if they weren't being completely serious... ?

Glamorizing violence / gun culture? Connected with drug trafficking? Gotta project a tough-guy image?

Evidently a couple of the people who were with him (and involved in the shooting) are now charged with gun crimes.

I don't know how to address illegal guns on the street (other than making laws tougher on legit gun owners isn't going to fix it). Only thing I can think of ... Dungeons. No more luxurious expensive jails for those people. You commit a crime with a gun, you get a one-way ticket to the dungeon. Every once in a while maybe someone will toss some food in over the wall. Whatever happens beyond that, happens. Only dead criminals come out, and probably sooner rather than later. No parole. No future. Never see your buddies again. You commit a crime with a gun, you are by definition a P O S undeserving of further life ... except that we don't have capital punishment, so the dungeon it is.

How about cracking down on gun smuggling? It's no secret doing so would require tighter border security, something Trudeau and the Liberals are dead set against because it would cut off their precious flow of illegal immigrants. That's why the smoke and mirrors show with the imaginary "assault" rifles prohibition.

Its the liberal attitude towards these folks thats the problem. They are painted as victims by the left which is a crock of ****. They have plenty of opportunity but choose to live the thug life because they like it. Quick money, broads and street cred.
A harder stance is needed here, longer sentences etc and bring back carding too.

Maybe if he wasnt scared of offending anyone he could get something done. How many guns and contraband are smuggled across Indian reserves?

Then he's gutless and he shouldn't be leading the country. You have to have the will and the leadership qualities to get the job done.
We all knew that before he was elected the first time. Was there a better alternative? There were at least a few that would have been much worse.
