Looks like he has a track bike and is just selling a clean title.

Not sure how that would work, as the VIN would be attached to his bike. For this to work properly he would have to sell the frame with the title.

There sure has been some shady **** going on lately with bikes on Kijiji. One spilled here as well .. silver CBR 1000.

So if you destroyed the VIN on the bike that needs a new title, then requested a new VIN from the ministry using the acquired title....

Is that how this works? I've always wondered.

If you pay for the ownership and just make a written letter stating

I derp bought cbr600cc with the vin xxx from herp derp for $xxx dollars

signed dated and witness.

Insure the bike, call the insurance and claim it to be stolen. Youll get either money or something back
gamble and call it a day ;)

Yeah given the VIN on the bike HAS to match the VIN on the ownership this won't be a viable way to do it. Heck I have my old Suzuki intruder 750 sitting out back covered but I don't plan to ever put it back on the road. Maybe I should sell the ownership for it for more than the bike would be worth parted out, then keep the frame and sell it off separately..lmao

its not a scam to sell it, but you'd be part of a scam if you use it. Putting a write off back on the road or playing match the VIN # would be a scam. The police may never check a VIN in a pull over, but the insurance company would in a serious collision before paying out.

But there are guys selling stolen ownerships, track bikes that used to be stored at a condo...... and every year a few get caught with no licence or insurance so there is a market for everything. One motorcycle show I was at had blank pink insurance tags, you type up your own info.
