Is this a scam? Sounds like it....

I replied to an autotrader post and this is the reply I got. Do you think it's a scam?

" Hi,
I got ur reply to my 2007 Yamaha YZF-R ad and i confirm that the bike is still for sale for $3200.
The bike is a 2007 year model with only 3900 km,1000 cc displacement.
It's in mint condition,runs perfectly and there's nothing wrong with it at all,never been dropped,no scratches.

I'm getting rid of my bike cuz i no longer use it since i went abroad for a job contract and i'll be living over there for many long years so i left the bike to a friend who was keeping it since a few months but he called me a few days ago and said he's moving to Nanuvut to stay with his ill father and he can't any longer keep my bike.
I don't have anyone else around who will be keeping it for me for all those long years so i decided to sell it quickly at a low price to get rid of it.
I intrusted the bike to a private truck driver and he's taking care of the sale and of the delivery as well.

So i told to the truck driver once i received ur reply to my ad that i found someone who's buying it and he's requesting ur details and house address so that he will transport the bike and all its paperworks(Ownership,Uvip,Seller's package of sale) to ur door with no cost at ur charge and once the bike is at ur home you will test drive it,check the papers with the ministry of transportation and if u find everything ok then u will take the bike and settle the payment of the $3200 cash on the spot to become the new owner of my wonderful bike.
So get back to me with ur infos below and i'll forward them to the delivery guy and he will get in touch with u to set up a time for the delivery and the bike will be brought to u asap:

I'll be waiting to hear from u asap."
 
The language used and the fact that the guy is abroad are obvious clues, but I'm curious to know exactly how the scam works... presumably there IS actually a bike?
 
In all the decades bikes and cars have been sold you never heard of them being "entrusted to a private truck driver". That seems to be all the rage theses days.
 
Litre bike, 3900kms, $3200. How can you go wrong?
 
Yep sounds fishy to me. I saw similar ones before too, like last year I almost wanted to try to get this 08 gixxer with 17k on it for 3500$. I was all like zomg this is too good to be true.

Best I can think is either identity theft or picking a house to get robbed.
 
The fact that dude got a job & can't write is a giveaway
 
I wrote back and asked to see the bike and paperwork where the bike is being stored. His reply said, tell me where to meet you and I;ll see you there. Should I arrange the meeting place to be in front of a police headquarters? :)

I knew it was too good to be true

Do you have any neighbors you don't like?
Send them there and see what happens?

I still don't understand how the scam works as he said you can test drive and sign all the paperwork at the MTO before the cash is given?
 
JamesBond should know what to do.... meet up and shoot em up if things start to go wrong.
 
I met up with a guy in a similar situation last year. I was selling my bike with a for sale sign on it, some older nigerian guy looks at it and is interested in buying it. He had to run, so we arrange to meet at the gas station later that evening . long story short, he gives me an envelope and tells me to open it at home and decide if I want this deal. Envelope had $5 usd/ 5 cdn.
 
Its not a scam...that's my bike, I work on an oilrig near Placethatdoesnotexist and can send you the bike via a remote control helicopter once you send me the money via Western Union in Nigerian funds. I can let you keep the helicopter. It's very safe. I do it all the time. I have many bikes to sell. Also pedigree dogs.
