Is this a good deal? ('09 650r $4500)

Its under 10,000km's, mint, 2nd owner (bought from dealer) '09 comes with cert and delivery at $4500

Anyone have any opinions whether this is a good deal or not? Guy sounds like a stand up person, going to take a look at the bike tomorrow. He kept everything stock except a gear indicator, frame sliders, and cosmetic upgrades. Its a black bike, if that matters.

He said the bike is MINT as well, going to grab it tomorrow unless I find somethings wrong.

Anyone see a better offer? Any known problems with the 09 650 ninja's?

Update: After asking around theres several people with '09's that will take $4500 just wondering aren't these bikes worth more?

is there a online ad?

yea but im saving this bike for myself ;) hes in north ontario, only hint im giving...

sure sounds like a good deal

Yeah it does, which is going to make me check the bike over 10x...man really wish my bike friend was available this weekend hes a mechanic and would be able to fish anything out...

Any mechanics on this forum that would take like $50 to just come along and check out if the bike has anything up with it?

Thats a good price for that year and mileage. so far my 650r has been very reliable. Good bikes all around. Lots of options for customizing it also. see ninja650shop ...sport bars ,etc.

good luck

Haha not even thinking about cuztomizing it this is about to shoot a hole straight in my wallet that will take a while to fix. Plus I have the money left over from the bike for maintenance and whatnot...should I go for a cheaper (older) model and just use the extra money to customize it?

(grips,levers, exaust etc.)

You mention the color of the bike.
If this is not the original color for the bike, I would seriously look into why it has been painted.

Everything is original and mint "apparently" never been dropped etc, hes the 2nd owner bought it from a dealership and he said hes getting the UVIP today.

I dont get it... You posted asking people to bring your bike back here like you already bought it: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?171866-Safety-amp-Delivery-NEEDED then you post asking if its a good deal...?

Anyways, don't believe that its "mint" just cause the owner says it is.. If you don't know bikes, bring someone that does to go with you and take a look at it.

Didn't buy it yet, I was looking to go check it out and the seller can't really deliver it, so I am looking for someone to cert it and help bring it back after I buy it. I wouldn't buy a bike without knowing there'd be someone ready to bring it back and having a price set in mind of how much extra it will cost as well. The ad sort of suggests that it hasn't been purchased yet as well.

All bike friends are busy this weekend, its a barely used bike but I am going to be sure to look over it plenty of times.

I wouldn't go older than 2009 for the 650R. That was the year they revised - upgraded the bike before the next generation 2012 model. $4,500 is a good price. Considering those bikes went for around $7,800 new in 2009.

Yeah I noticed the ones prior to 09 don't have the digital dash and they are kinda ugly...:P

$4500 sounds fair, not sure how much it would sell for in a year though, I've seen asking prices over 5500 but many are taking offers of 4000's
I wouldn't be surprised if he's on this forum and has been reading both of your threads lol.

Yeah, he probably is...guy sounds like a stand up guy though I doubt he'd do anything with the information on the forum.

In 2009 when I bought mine the best price I could find was $8300 out the door. I asked ever single dealer at the shows to beat it and the closest they would come was to $8500. If you financed there was another $300 charge for some reason.

Sold my 09 SV650S yesterday for $5100. It was saftied and had some mods on it like the Yoshi exhaust (you really need to get a slip on at least for SV650s). It being $4500 and not being saftied, I'd check out the bike reallllly carefully first.

It says comes certed and delivered :O, should I be weary of the safety cert? He got it done in his own time earlier today.

Even if it has been certified, it may have been dropped, crashed, low-sided w/e... and he just covered it up real good and fixed it up. The fairings can be replaced easily so you can't just judge it from looking at pictures.

As for the safety itself...I don't see where you can go wrong with it because the technician has to sign off on it.

man buying my first bike is nerve wracking :( anyone in the west end free tonight to tag along?
