Is a Safety needed to register a Green Plated Dirt bike

Q: If you buy a motorcycle designated as off road only , that was previously green plated, what do you need to change ownership? Do you need a safety? or is a Safety needed for plating the bike?

No safety needed on dirt bike.

Any bike plated for on road use will need a safety. Off road, not so much.

You can of course transfer any road vehicle into your name without a safety regardless but it'll be registered as "UNFIT" accordingly and can't be plated until its safetied and changed to "FIT" status.
