Thought i would share this link as i don't seem to post as much these days. Seems like a pretty interesting idea, rear view helmet cam. Always good to know what is going on behind you, this may make it a little easier to some extent.

Worth a look.

It is more then a rear view cam, its a heads up display system with GPS and music all with voice activation. I signed up to be a beta tester, not sure if I will be, but maybe I will be lucky.

interesting indeed. Wonder what all the gizmo's would cost?

Reevu Helmet + Oakley HUD goggles / Google Glass = Technology convergence baby!

Shut up and take my money! ;)

Sad part is Google Glass is likely to be banned while driving as some US states have already pre-emptively done, while Reevu spent 7 to 10 years in development and finding funding.

Oakley HUD goggles also suffer from slow uptake and logistical issues such as eye focus speed when looking at a near object in the field of vision then focusing on a far object. The eye itself can be slow to react, so looking down to read the HUD can actually be much slower than say a HUD on a car windshield dash! Ideal HUD distance is definately not at Google Glass range!

Try putting your finder 3 inches from your iris and rapidly change focus between finger tip and computer screen and you will notice a dangerously slow reaction time and rapid onset of fatigue.

Wonder how this turns out.

Interesting concept, but the rearview moves with your head. In a car the HUD is fixed so I can look around without the display changing.

With this, if I look left to see something, do I risk bcoming disoriented in any sense when the display now picks up something to my immeidate right, like a car coming to an intersection I am passing through?

I certainly weould love to try it, but I'm just nopt sure my brain is smart enough to process all of the info available

What I would like to know is...

How much does this thing weigh!?

I do not think it will weight that much that it would be uncomfortable. I have a Schuberth C3 Pro with built in speakers, bluetooth and all that jazz with a battery. Its heavier then other helmets I have had, but nothing out of the ordinary when I compare it to an old Icon helmet I used to wear. The biggest weight will probably be the battery thats in it.

this company is too small to sustain business of its own, they better sell their technology to already established helmet manufacturer like Shoei or Arai. I would buy their technology but not their helmet.

i would be neat if you can tell hit to take a picture also

Very cool helmet!

The Schuberth C3 pros are already known to be one of the lighter helmets out there. With the additions you mentioned, I can imagine it wouldn't be THAT heavy. Now if this helmet's weight is anything like my Scorpion exo 1000, then to me it's WAAY too heavy.

Retro-fit mod a la the Scala com system might be a nice touch and access a wider market.

Auto backup cams and screens are pretty cheap. This will be the first, so big $$$. But, if it is popular, Chinese knockoffs will appear pretty quick.
It's basically components of a cheap smart phone.

I second this. I'm very picky about helmets. That said this is interesting. Everyone's first comment about lane splitting should be legal because you can't see behind you in traffic blah blah blah would no longer hold any argument. I wonder if this will catch on or not? I can see other people claiming distracted driving etc :dontknow:

Can't Wait for the Shoei Nexus 12! or the Arai Corsair Galaxy!

I'd hold out for the Ihelmet 5.:p

I dunno fellas...I think I prefer an Arai and shoulder check to this one...
