I had used Lucas, and Amsoil before i switched to T6, woulnd't go back. My 250 loves the T6, and at $37 at walmart works out to be a lot cheaper than any other synthetic!

Oil is oil just use whatever is recommended or cheapest as long as it meets your bikes oil requirements.

Speaking for the Mobil1 MX4T, even at 5,000kms the oil analysis showed it was still useable and didn't degrade or lose it's viscosity. (Was still showing as 10w40) ...and that was with a few dyno passes too.
I've been using Rotella dino for 10 years in my ST, which admittedly is an older design as it was producted from 1991 to 2002, and it's a good oil and great value. The ST motor is detuned and built for torque and longevity. For most riders I think synthetic is overkill and a valueless expense if the OEM oil is dino. If the OEM is synthetic then stick with this obviously.

Works well: 15W40 diesel oil for me.
Unless the manual tells you to use synthetic: don't bother.
3500km is ridiculously low. I did closer to 6000km.
Nitrogen did not come from racing. Tires still heat up with nitrogen. They were using refrigerant gas for a while, but nitrogen is nothing but a cheap marketing idea.
My new car has 15,000 km oil change intervals on non-synthetic oil. Most people change oil too frequently.
Use whatever is 10W40 and for bikes. Honestly don't over think it like I and many other bike owners did when we first got bikes lol Same goes for coolant and gasoline (use whatever the manual says, the engineers know more than you and have a pretty University paper to back it probably).
Owners manual should have chart indicating oil viscosity ranges and ambient air temperature ranges. If current temps. allow 15-40 oil use diesel oil. It has two vital anti wear ingredients in higher concentrations than car or m/c oil because they are harmful to catalytic converters. Or some such. Vintage car racers use diesel oil because regular car oil damages flat tappet cams. It's worth looking into.

Nitrogen in tires DID come from racing or in other words - got popularized by racing. The pressure still changes, just not as much. Cheap marketing idea - yes.
My background - I've been installing and selling tires for 10 years.

Very true. These days we can go alot farther on oil changes than what the Service Manuals recommend.

*** coming back to the topic. OP check your manual. I think it says 10W40 dino or synthetic. Kawi dealer oil is regular 10W40 oil with their sticker on it

That part I know but people always argue about octane. In that regard, just follow the manual. And for the record, I try my best to always use V-Powah!!!

Where can I buy quarts of rotella t ? Parts source was closed and C.T didnt have any. Also is there a difference to run 15w40 vs 10w in colder weather ?
