Increasing night visibility?

Just wondering what you guys find is effective at increasing your visibility at night? I'm putting on some reflective tape but is there more effective options?
I've considered a hiviz vest, LED on the helmet (depending on what effect is on DOT certification) but not sure what Other options are out there.
thanks!

High vis vest is good....make sure they don't skimp on the scotchlite or whatever the equivalent reflecting material is. I might be buying a bike soon which has a poor headlight set so I'll be adding auxiliary lighting. About $140 buys 1600 lumens of LED lights that can be used to supplement your main beam if necessary to add a nice "triangle of light". The reflective tape is also good, I had that stuff plastered everywhere on my bike. You can also get reflective rim tape which adds a little to your sideways profile.

I wrote off my '05 when I got rear-ended. I added the Admore lighting bar and GIVI E52 kit onto my '08 DL, and the back of my bike lights up like a Christmas tree now! The Admore stuff is a little pricey, but works pretty well too, so I think it was worth it.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I'll be putting on the reflective tape on this week (thanks to GVH on the site!) on the bike and some accents on the helmet. As I have some black areas on the helmet I can cut and custom shape the tape to fit within those lines and keep the look clean.
Also considering adding the reflective stripes off a vest onto my jacket simply to not have to add another piece of clothing. I think a good needle and a knife will help with this fairly easily.
And the last thing I stumbled upon is an LED bar that can be connected to your brake light circuit which lights up and flashes when you press on the brake pedal.

I've considering the 'Tron' look above...but it's a little too much toe showing for my liking!

Their controller made tying into the brake light easy. I just slipped the extra wires into the Posi-Tap connectors, that they provided with the signal light kit, so that the new brake light on my top box would draw power through the controller. Since it's such a small extra draw, comparatively speaking, it isn't an issue.

I agree! I started with a kit from Adventure Motostuff that added running and brake lights to my rear turn-signal stalks;

Then I added the Admore E52 kit and and light bar, starting with just wiring the two together (same functions, why not?), then "pigtailing" them into the tail section of the bike. I notice a slight delay in my turn signals between the dash indicator light and when they actually flash, but it's a difference of milliseconds as all the LEDS draw so little current on the system.
