If i went down to US address' in NY and had packages waiting for me.

When declaring it, since ill be there and back do i pay just HST on total amount of everything?

Or is there an import tax as well ?

Total of goods would equal around $1000.

You pay hst on everything as you weren't there for at least 24 hours. No import tax

HST plus duties on any foreign made goods. The rate can be found at the bottom of this page...

Got it. Thats what i thought, but was told differently recently.

Just have to show them a bill of sale or such correct ?

When I got dinged for it, all I paid was HST and showed them the receipts I printed from the net.
