Icon Contra Jacket Back Protector

Hey guys,
This isn't as exciting as the breast implant thread(!) but I was wondering if anyone has tried/used the Stryker Back Protector? I've been looking for a replacement for the foam pad in my Icon Contra jacket but this is the only one that I've found online that will fit (as per Icon website).
If you have any suggested other ones I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
 
I have one of those Strykers, bought it a few days after I bought the Contra jacket (a year or so ago).

Fit is perfect, of course it adds weight to the jacket, but can't complain as it gives me added peace of mind. Not sure if any of the others would fit (e.g. the Knox stuff might be a bit long for the pocket in the jacket, especially if you buy the Aegis-8 or bigger, but can't verify that as fact).

Off to the bewbie thread I go!

Wow...what's with Icon Contra and CBR250R? I have the same...
 
I found a great price on it at the January show (at least to me) for $150 tax in...so that's why I bought it. Now I'm looking for a better back protector as it's going to get warm soon and I'd like to use the textile jacket...although after reading another thread I'm questioning my choice of textile vs leather for the summer!

The Stryker is a good back protector and will fit the Contra, no issues there.

With regards to textile versus leather, it's up to you (I have both, and interchange them up as the mood strikes me). No doubt that a *good* leather jacket will have venting to make it seem like you're wearing textile, but any type of good motorcycle leather will protect you better than an equivalent textile product.

It's my only jacket, and that's unlikely to change this season. Works very well with 2 layers under it, kept me warm. I guess the better back protector is a good idea...
 
Without question leather protects better, but I just wanted to be able to wear whatever gear I buy, so I was thinking of those 30+C days in stop and go traffic downtown, and mesh seemed to be a good idea. So I will stay with textile for my commuting.
I want to invest in a good one piece leather track suit for my weekend riding trips. I'd love to go to track school as well...all in good time I guess...
 
^^ Was just about to post that. I have a Forcefield that fits perfectly into the contra. Tried mine in both medium and large contras and the back protector is the same in both.

Forcefield are among the top rated in this category.
